If you looked at this over the years then (IMHO) it looks more and more like a nation-state funded/resourced operation to compromise/blackmail other countries politicians/economic figures.
Clearly it wasn't the USA doing it, nor the Russians or Chinese as none of them has benefited from all that "influence" over the last 30 years. I think its unlikely to have been us given the paedo prince's involvement but never underestimate the stupidity of the UK's "intelligence services" and you won't be disappointed.
