Jeffrey Epstein

Remember, there are millions MORE files they have not released, even though they were supposed to release everything. Bondi said that they were looking at about 6 million files previously, so it is known that at least 2.5 million remain unaccounted for.

One can hope that the slimy POS will be having his peerage stripped from him soon too.
People involved in this should be doing jail time, not just the inconvenient loss of titles and embarrassment.

The #MeToo movement continues….the world these people live in where they know full well the dodgy goings on, but can convince themselves that because it’s the rich and powerful involved, they can plead ignorance and get away with it. Most of them still will mind.

This is the sad thing. They can still disappear and really, only their reputation is damaged.

Sad really.

people involved in saville / al-fayed case could be doing jail time / fired too ... in time epstein furore will pass
trumps digging his own grave with the economy and the democrats/right won't need this stick to beat him at elections.

Mandelsons just a domestic political football at the moment

You think that's worthy? It does sound dodge, but I guess if yiu took away that he applied for a job later to them, would it be seen as bad that he advised businesses how to "get around/be happy and not cause a stink for the prime minister" of a new rule that he may have himself disagreed with? You're prob right but to lose his lord title I don't see it. yet

I mean, its a very common pathway and the reason that many people are more than happy to take public sector jobs that aren't super well paid. Being influential in the public sector simply means that you can jump ship to a very very well paid role in the private sector.

Its hard to avoid but when people are advising people on how to bend/break the rules in the very industry they should be acting against in their current role, thats bent. The question then becomes "how can you trust that these people aren't effectively working for the companies they should be fighting whilst they are still in their government role". Paving the way for their lucrative move into the public sector.

Unfortunately you can be pretty sure that all these powerful ex politicians are selling the country and influence/secrets to the highest bidder once out of office. Blair was estimated to be worth about £60m....in 2014. His salary as PM was about £180k/year in his final year as PM which was 2007.

You don't accumulate that sort of wealth that quickly without being of massive massive value to very wealthy people and knowing the right poles to grease. They're largely all as bent as a nine bob note.

Don't all former PMs and likely high ranking ministers join corporate boards, charge silly money for speaking events and advise foreign governments on how to work with the UK government/businesses?

Well maybe not Truss, she only gets paid by the loons on the far right and lettuce producers.
