Not much if you believe what Mia Khalifa says https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-49330540
how can she only make 12,000usd, maybe they should have tried to capitalise on whatever fame she had by putting her own videos on one of the youtube style sites or made some actual family friendly videos on youtube and turned in to a blogger or some crap travelling the world.
She would have only needed like 1 million followers or less to make a good living.

I think it's more that these adult stars get fairly famous but have no life plans, no looking to the future, no capitalising on their moment in the spot light.

her only making 12k is probably crap though and that's what the taxman thinks

if some skank can make 6 or 7 figures posing on Instagram and selling bathwater I refuse to believe a pro porn star makes 12k in a lifetime.

I think some of it is they see themselves a certain way and get used to the attention and money. When their lives change and they grow older they won't be selected for the same parts. So instead of re-imagining themselves going for different roles, they can't take it, so roles and money dries up.

I only saw the headline and the first couple of paragraphs. I thought she was one of these west coast Americans that had given up the business and was now living a hedonistic lifestyle, away from the money and fame?

The MIrror's video interview bit shows her talking saying she's so happy and used to be top 100 on various lists etc.

now if you listen to the audio alone you can tell she's regretting various decisions that lead her to the current position. And if you watch the video it's blindingly obvious from body language alone. She's not happy at all. Also obvious drugs have plaid a large part in her downfall.

Little sympathy tbh for those who allow themselves to decline into such a state from drugs and/or alcohol abuse.

Take it you've no experience of addiction then?

Why would I need to? You make a conscious decision in the first place to get to the stage of being addicted. And besides there are countless organisations and places to go to get help from any addiction. You just have to choose to do so. People who can't be bothered to help themselves become better people only have themselves to blame. Sure they don't deserve to be in those situations, but they made choices as grown ass human beings and only they can sort themselves out and ask for help.
