jim bean or jack?

Jim beam black 6 year old on offer at my local Lidl today....£16-99......lovely drink and nothing like the cheaper JB or that rubbish JD stuff.

i was wondering why i didn't remember posting in this thread when i read the title... and then i realised that it's because this thread is a corpse!

Rebel Yell for me, have a couple of bottles in the bar right now. I'm also partial to Jack Daniels too, in fact I may pick up a bottle tonight as Sainsburys have it on offer at £16.

this is turning out to be an informative thread, last week i finished off a bottle of jack id owned for about 15yrs, it was smooth, really smooth! now how much difference the 15yrs made is difficult to quantify

Most likely none. When people talk about aged whiskeys they are referring to time spent in a cask not in a glass bottle, which will not imbue any flavour.

I can't stand Jack Daniels, so if I had to make a choice Jim Beam.

But if I had to buy a bourbon type drink it'd be the el cheapo stuff that sainsburys sells.

I'd much rather a 12 year Old Pulteney or if I had to go for a cheaper brand Ballantines (one of europes best selling whiskys but not sold in the Uk) or johnnie walker red label.
