My girlfriends best friend was groped by Jimmy Savile back in 1978 in the back of his camper van back. She was a journalist interviewing him when he tried it on. She was actually 26 at the time but looked very much younger. Amongst the things he said were how he could kill an alsation dog with his bare hands, and why don't they go back to her place to continue the interview. She is currently helping Scotland Yard with their enquiries. How's that for an eye witness account? :) I fully expect someone to post in a minute "She was obviously asking for it"

Talking about what exactly?
In the other thread (which I quoted here because the Mod told him to put it here) it was asked if anybody had heard anything about Savile before this broke.
The very first thing I heard about him being a nonce was somebody making a throwaway statement with no proof.
THAT IS THE FIRST TIME I HEARD ABOUT SAVILE ALLEGEDLY NONCING ABOUT.
Can't see what the big deal you're making about a throwaway comment.

Yea, lets ignore the fact loads of people were too scared to come forward in our rape culture and do anything about that, see where we went wrong, and try and prevent these kinds of things happening again, lets just pretend it never happened right? These girls should just shut up and live with their rape, he is dead now, its all over.

I wouldnt be surprised in the slightest if people ask what she was wearing and if she led him on by simply being female, this forum is full of rape apologists.

@ the first, people didn't come forward at the time because Savile was essentially bomb proof, he spent christmas with the Thatcher eleven times, eleven!!

All for getting some form of closure officially for these people, the people involved or that just allowed this to happen from the top to the bottom should face up to their actions or lack of actions. Hopefully things like this don't ever happen again, but they will because horrible individuals exist, but we 'need' to change the culture of not speaking out.

Why didn't she report it back then?
 
What do you mean by groped? Twenty or thirty years ago that was unfortunately classed as "normal" behaviour on a lads night out.

Savile was a big strong lad who was an ex wrestler and very fit.
I expect that the abused would be scared of him.

Quite sadly you are correct.
What was deemed normal in the 60s/70s is not normal now.
