Jimmy Savile - Sexual Predator

My issue is that people knew what he was doing and should have tried to stop him. Okay, they might say it's their word against Saville's and who's going to beleive me, but somebody should have said something.

I saw a retied nurse interviewed from the hospital where Saville had a room and she said she saw him sexually molesting a mentally retard girl one night on the ward but did nothing about it. In my mind, it's a good job she is retired as she should have been sacked. If I was a nurse and saw that, I certainly wouldn't have kept silent. How many victims might she have saved if she had come forward?

Even if you thought reporting him would do no good I would have gone over and told him that if he didn;t stop then I would report him at the very least.

google any one of them,

Lord McAlpine, Derek Laud, Michael Portillo, Leon Brittan, Peter Mandleson oh and of course Lord Mountbatten,

all alleged and internet rumour of course

You have to remember the difference in decades. Things are drastically different now than they were 30-40 years ago.

Some did report him, and were punished for doing so, because we live in a rape culture where rape is hushed up and not seen as bad as it should be. Heads should role as if murders were hushed up, but they won't be, it'll be

"oh boys will be boys!" and "oh but it was different back then!"

Your obsessed! We do NOT live in a rape culture!

We do, however, live in a country where whistle-blowing is severely punished. Not only do whistle-blowers lose their job (with the guilty getting away with it scott-free), but they rarely get a job afterwards. Who want's a trouble causer?

The age of consent wasn't different, age of maturity wasn't different and people didn't make a habit of molesting and raping children. So no, I don't think it was.

The comment had nothing to do with legality.
And no, it was very different back in those days. People did not report stuff, places where far more corrupt. It was very much a different era.
So so many things have changed since that era, from public opinion to employment law and everything inbetween.

Can't agree at all, society was massively different.
The legality of it has little to do with how society was very different.

I agree. I even remember in the eighties it still was when channel 4 showed a red triangle film which graphically had a bloke sexually abusing a young child.
