JJB Gyms

Hi there, does anybody know how you get a guest pass at the likes of JJB gym?

My mate wants to swap gyms and I really need a gym buddy as I'm in the can't be arsed zone atm and could do with encouragement.

Anybody been issued with guest passes before?

I got some when I signed up, I'm sure if you ask at the desk they'll give you some.

They charge £10 a guest here but thats been when i've just turned up with a mate.

Do they hand out passes?

It was like a leaflet which you filled out and could take someone for free a certain number of times. Just had a look around but couldn't find it.

Work at Head Office (but not to do with the health clubs).

You can get weekend guest passes, if you just ask them then I can't see them saying no really. Or they're doing an offer too at the minute, if you spend £5 at the bar then you get a free weekend guest pass.

I went up to the counter and asked last time I was in and they said no.

They are not doing any current offers and are not doing any guest passes at the moment.

I was pretty shocked to say the least.

I have been a peak member for just over a year and have never seen one of these guest passes :eek:

A lot of the gyms around here are health gyms where you can have your nails done and that. No thanks.

JJB on the other had is fully of body builder type people.

One is being built here, not expected to be open until Autumn 08 according to the JJB Fitness website.

I'll go have a look when it does open though. Can't see them having much free weight stuff, nothing around here seems to.

JJB gyms have loads of free weights. Suprisingly good actually... only gripe is the shiny new barbells, grip is impossible!!

I have to use liquid chalk for every exercise using the barbells.

Now that sounds promising!

I'll without a doubt be checking it out now. I wouldn't mind making use of a couple of machines and the swimming pool etc in a few months time.

Think they go up to 50kg the dumbells here. (JJB)

Yes the dumbells go to 50kgs at the my one too

Tis nice to chill out in the pool / steam room after.

I'll see if I can sort a guest pass from Head Office for you. Will ask, might not be vaild in all gyms if that's the case though.
