look up some key words (just know what the acronim means and very simply what its for, the person asking the questions will likley know nothing and be totally stupid and unable to get a job in the real world)
when they call it ICT punch them..
1) hub / switch / router
2) structured cableing
3) comms room / server room
4) total cost of ownership (the total cost of owning something thats why you buy a pre-built server for £2000 with 3 years next day on site hardware support than build your own for £700 with no support - the seemingle cheaper option will likley cost more)
5) ethernet / fiber
6) imaging software (create a standard build to all you to install workstations very fast)
7) WSUS - centralised patch (MS windows and MS apps) managment jsut know what it is
8) VPN
9) DHCP, DNS, WINS (wins is old now)
10) Firewall, DMZ
11) Active directory, domain controller (as in a windows domain controller), stand alone server
12) call logging software
13) SLA's, RMA's
14) Ping, TRACERT
15) SMTP, POP, IMAP, MAPI, Exchange, webmail
16) IP address, subnet mask, routing, port forwarding, NAT
17) Social engineeing, DDos attack, Virus (forget the trogen etc crap, a virus is a virus is a bit of code on your PC you dont want)
18) backups, off site backups, disaster recovery
19) virtulisation, citrix
20) UPS (As in batteries), why do servers go in an air conditioned room,
21) RAID, Mirroring, raid 5 (there are lots of raid but everyone asks about 5)
21) maybe at least know what NAS, and SAN stand for
22) 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support
well thats some of the basics they may ask about covered, know all those acrinims and terms and any non it person is gonna give you the job instantly

You are NOT the god of the network, you are looking after the users system to enable them to do their job!!! You are working for the users maintaining their system...
