job promotion do i take it or not

money isnt everything and neither is being a manager...

Its hard and lonely at the top, of course depends on industry however in the majority of sectors being a manager = responsbilities which isnt the problem, but for example if you are moving away and have to start making friends etc all over and it goes pear shaped then who will you have to talk to over there, also what happens if you dont like it?

approach with caution my friend, can you not ask for a trial? with a £16K rise I'm sure you can afford to cover a months rent...

are you only being offered the role as others dont want to move?

finally, if you have been offered the role of manager in cyprus whats stops you from finding a well paid job as a manager in your current area, as you have the skills in your current employers eyes..

Go for it. If it all goes pear shaped then at least you tried. If you never try then THAT would be a mistake.

Your flat mate will be worried. But at the end of the day we all have to live our own lives and not going for it to help him out would also be a mistake.

Good luck.
