John McAfee has died

I don't know enough about him to dislike the guy. The little I do know makes him sound a total legend tbh.

His AV I ******* hate, though. Especially remember back to buying a laptop in Curry's when I was about 20 and having to withstand the hard sell on it from two sales ***** trying to bundle it in (plus a £200 extended warranty on a £600 laptop!). Or maybe thst was Norton. Whatever.

Very harsh!

A lot feel this wasn't suicide, it wasn't that long ago he was saying he would be killed no matter what happened with his imprisonment

In a tweet on 16 June, he said the US authorities believed he had “hidden crypto. I wish I did,” he said.

“My remaining assets are all seized. My friends evaporated through fear of association. I have nothing. Yet, I regret nothing.”

Never forget John's famous gift for predicting currency movements. In 2017 he swore that Bitcoin would hit $500,000 by the end of 2020, and promised to eat his own penis if it didn't.

John didn't follow up on that promise, but if he had, nobody would have been surprised.
 
He also heavily manipulated coins to his own advantage - taking people's money and making more millions in the process.

Not a nice man and no great loss.

Wasn't really his AV company, at least not since 1994.

Sort of, but he didn't hide behind any particular coin with false promises. He straight up used his own social media accounts etc to have people pay him to shill their coins. He made a mint with the payoff, then bought loads of that coin cheap, made more by selling the pump information to channels and then dumped at the inevitable pump - leaving the fool bag holders.

He was under investigation for that too. I never saw anything so blatant!
