From what i read on Sky Sports new app was that the maximum fine he can receive is £2500, not much of a fine for a football player who earns silly money.

Lol its quite humorous really. Im sure the money side is nothing compared to disciplinary on his 'work' side of things.

Hopefully they'll make an example of him, otherwise it will have been a load of drama for nothing. If they do little other than slap him on the wrist and give him a £2,500 fine then it's pretty much saying that what he did was OK.

JT has arrived for the game. We'll have kick-off shortly and Chief Magistrate Howard Riddle will be the ref.

From the small video which SSN aired with his mouth partly blurred out it looks to me that he did say something he shouldn't. I certainly wouldn't say that he is racist, he just said something in the heat of the moment. But because of previous events I guess they are going to want to make an example out of him if they can.

The lip reading experts are in no doubt as to what he said, so it will be interesting to see how he tries to worm his way out of this one.

I'm sure they're keen to make an example out of him. If he was racist then he deserves it. I don't like racism :p

I couldn't care if he did make a racist comment tbh. It's like most things, you say what will hurt the most to get the best reaction.

What Terry said has never been open for debate, he admitted to saying it. What is open for debate is whether he was repeating an accusation made by Ferdinand or whether he was directly calling Ferdinand a black ****.

Can he face a ban for this or is it just a fine?

If found guilty, the worst he can get is a £2,500 fine. The FA will (you'd hope) then hold their own disciplinary hearing where he could face a ban if found guilty there.

What will be interesting to see is if he's cleared in this case, will the FA still hold their own disciplinary hearing? Seeing as the required evidence to get a guilty verdict in court is far greater than with the FA you'd hope they would but I wouldn't be surprised if they hid behind the courts verdict and swept it under the carpet.

AFAIK they have tried to ban lip reading experts from the trial and his lawyer is apparently going to try and discredit Anton's character. Sounds a little fishy.
