At least the ref saw Shelvey's, Webb not even looking for that and gave a red

I stand corrected. Evans' tackle was worse than gerrards, which I still believe deserved a red.

I think the only thing that got shelvey sent off and saw evans get away with it was the fact Shelvey got up and got on with it, and Evans went through the hobbling off routine.

Actually on reconsideration Gerrard's is equally as bad if not worse, it is more of a torpedo action that Evans to be honest with all that force. Although going into that type of 50/50 tackle where both players end up sliding not sure he'd be breaking any legs, but if the other guy was standing I would be mortified.

I mean by definition, Evans' tackle is worse as it is two footed. Both tackles would probably break legs if they were on an opponent who was standing with weight on the leg.

I just cant see how people can say Evans' tackle was fair and didnt deserve a red. If we can see a camera view of behind Evans we can see how bad it is. It is exactly the type of tackle that we want to see eradicated. Both players should have seen red.

it wasnt two footed, Evans' left foot was well away from any risk of contact ever being made

Of course not

I don't know the rules off hand but is two footed worse than lunging in with excessive force off the ground?

How has a thread on John Terry supposedly racially abusing Ferdinand turned into a full on debate over Evans' horrendous challenge on Shelvey?
