John Terry Racism Trial

Not shouting "I didn't call you a black ****" across the pitch. That's offensive. That's even if you believe his version of events.

Disagree, if someone goes did you call me fat or something i'd say 'I didn't call you fat', not I didn't call you that. I can see me doing the same thing back and it isn't offensive repeating that.

That said I don't believe Terry but no conclusive evidence so can't really slam him as racist when the same thing happened with Suarez except less evidence of course.

I think it has been fairly explained due to Suarez saying it at least 10 times it is worse. Although there is no evidence of Suarez actually using offensive language.

Also what silly billy posted what is in your quote, they deaf? (Pink Floyd, not Kiss :P)

EDIT: Sorry I swear Tom, musn't have been brought up properly

Haha! My sig is the most important thing on the internet! Sorts out the definitive opinion on The Wall :p (see the thread for the explanation).

So repeating something (that cannot be proven was said) is worse than saying something once for sure.... Odd one...

I haven't seen the full reports so I don't know at what time he said it to ref - maybe he said it before all 7 alleged utterances had been made (the point I was trying to make is maybe he reported it after the first instance, would he have to go up and tell him every single time?). Also he probably didn't view it as pertinent at the time; the idea that somebody could try and hold it up as evidence of inconsistency is ludicrous. If he said "Suarez called me XXXX exactly one time, and one time only" at the conclusion of the match then fair enough, but I highly doubt it.

Evra and Suarez were both called over to the ref after the altercation during which the FA decided Suarez used the word "negro" 7 times. The altercation was conducted entirely in Spanish.

Before the ref spoke to either, Evra said "He just called me a n!gger". Evra told the 4th official who took notes after the game that he was called a "n!gger" 5 times. He then told French TV that he'd been called that 10 times. It's quite categorical that he was never called a "n!gger" once. But anyway, that's by the by. It's up to him what he's offended by, so long as he's being honest.

"Fat" isn't inherently a term of abuse. "Fat ****" is. "I didn't call you a fat ****" is abusive.

"I didn't call you a Black ****" is abusive and refers to skin colour.

"black ****" is an offensive use of the English language. His native tongue. He didn't have to repeat it, he certainly didn't have to shout it across the pitch. On which note. I'll stop before I get into trouble myself! ;)

And as I said, that's even if you accept his version.

Really? I've never thought repeating something someone else said is offensive to do.

Oh come on. There's loads of situations where repeating stuff that people say would be offensive.

One example would be to shout across a room at a family party "No, I didn't say your mother is an ****** fat ****".

It's a real shame some of our forum experts couldn't have offered their services to the actual legal teams when it actually counted. It's similar to how everyone on here appears to be a tactical genius, they simply choose to not put those skills into actual use.

Discussion of peoples opinions occurring on a forum, shocker

Yeah you're really careful to couch your statements as opinions aren't you Purdy? What a shocker that would be.

Do you want me to write 'this is my opinion' after everything I say, just because I disagree doesn't mean I'm assuming it is fact :)?

Surely Ferdinand should be charged for using racist language too if he said them first and Terry repeated them?

Also its obvious to anyone that evans' tackle is worse than shelveys. Yes shelveys is reckless and out of control. But its one footed, playing the ball with the side of his boot. Definately a yellow, possibly a red.

But Evans, OMG. ITs two footed, studs up, straightening his legs to the torpedo 'leg breaker' position. It is THE DEFINITION of the sort of tackles we want to see eradicated. It is a carbon copy of the tackle Gerrard did on Carrick on Dalglishes first game in charge, which of course he got sent off for.

:o I didn't think it was possible to embarrass yourself so much in so few words.

Tell me what was different about gerrards tackle on carrick and evans tackle on shelvey then? Apart from carrick did the well rehearsed rolling around, hobble off for a minute then come back on. The same thing that Evans did.

If you think evans 2 footed studs up tackle shouldnt have seen red you are mad.

Gerrard's was one footed.

At least the ref saw Shelvey's, Webb not even looking for that and gave a red

It's clear that our opinions differ but I'm not going to get involved because only Baz and Pigeon can discuss Liverpool matters without whining like little girls.
