Joining/Leaving the Motorway

This thread has reminded me of my most hated slip roads / junction which are on the dual carriageway that runs through Coventry centre.
Short - check
Obstructed view due to concrete barriers - check
Traffic joining and leaving on the same short slip - check
Always sodding busy - check

Same sort of thing in Birmingham as well apart from it being a 30 limit and everyone does 50 - 60

Reminds me of a junction in Manchester City, albeit it's not strictly a motorway but the A57M, one junction to join heading west literally has a slip road with a tight bend, and merges into the carriageway the second it reaches it. Bearing in mind that there's barriers blocking your view it is literally impossible to merge properly in a car. It has to be treated as a give way as you'd never see anything if you didn't slow dramatically at the top.

Bear in mind it's a 50mph limit dual carriageway where most people actually drive 60+ when not busy and you see the issue!

I'm assuming you mean joining from northbound on Upper Brook St? Trying to join and get up to speed, but the lane you join is the exit slip road for cars on the motorway wanting to leave at the next junction a couple hundred meters away (Cambridge St roundabout?)? I used to use it from time to time, leaving onto that roundabout, and regularly winced as people try to roar out of that junction and straight into the middle lane.
