joypads for pc

Used a PS2 joypad converter for well over a year (and my Xfire tells me at least 300 hours on GTA:SA!) and it's awesome. Not experienced any of the issues mentioned in this thread, neither have several of my mates who also have the *competitor* converter.

Borrowed a mates 360 pad for a little while and used it on all the games that i use a joypad on (PES, Sensi, GTA, FlatOut) and it's got nothing on the best joypad ever made, the Playstation 2 controller. ;)

if the ps joypads dont lag then i might get the converter. are there types of converters that i should stay away from?

Mine's from the DVD place and it works a treat, so if you can get one from there...do. :)

All I can really say, is WTF is an Adaptiod when you want one :p
I'd really like one of these, to hook up IMHO the best designed controller (N64!!) to my PC, but the prices are astronomical on auction sites.
I just love the central position of the stick & the buttons- Yes, it could be more sensitive, but the overall design is by far the best I've found for a joypad.
(None of the other adaptors out there support the rumble function :( )

When i use a game pad (not very often, Racing SIM fan over here) i use a psx/2 pad with joytech converter. I dont notice any lag, not to say it's not there. The problem i do find is the analogue sticks are very glitchy, this problem persists regardless of whether its a brand spanking pad or an old one.

Sorry...didn't get a chance to respond last night.

I wasn't arguing about the quality of the xbox360 pad...as I said, it's probably great.

I'm not sure where you've got this "change your tune" idea from to be honest.

@the OP:

The simple conclusion I see here: buy both and then whichever you like least can become the pad you let your friends use when they come round to play two-player games :)

Sorry to bring his one back to the top but I thought It'd be worth it as I've this weekend had a chance to test a ps2 joypad+converter and an xbox 360 controller side by side at my LAN :)

Seems like the xbox360 is pretty much better in every way. Still haven't found this 'lag' that's been reported but the xbox360 pad had a nicer dpad, better analogue and much nicer shoulder buttons. So..le winnor.
