for that cost cant you buy a sack barrow, a pair of normal batteries plus jump leads.

wire them in series (i think it is, to keep it 12v) and it ought to start anything and be just as portable if you have that many motors

Please nobody do this, you'll break something....PARALLEL. Wired in PARALLEL!!!

sorry, my wiring terminology isnt good, ive not been into hifi stuff etc for years when i used to know the formulae etc.

i did say "i think" tho

Pfft, 24v makes sure stuff starts though! *

* note: this may only work on old non-ecu diesels, don't blame me if your car catches fire.

Stand down men, iv ordered the jumper jobber now, no DIY wire ups will be tried :)

Why not just get a battery charger? I've never used a jump starter ever but I've had plenty of flat batteries, I just charge the battery up, which is fine if you don't need to go RIGHT NOW, which given there are 3 cars I suspect you dont?

Cos im lazy and i cant be arsed lugging the 3 batteries out the cars :)

Maybe he needs to start a few flat ones in a short time? (need to do pics of 3-4 cars in an hour, quicker to boost them than wait hr+ for each one to get enough juice to spin over?)

You don't need to? You can charge them in situ

Ok my barn is appox 8 minutes walk from this house.

The nearest power is 3 minutes walk or however many feet that is, so by the time i **** about, run power down there connect it up then do that times 3 i see it as the easier option to just give 100 quid for one of these.

This dosent happen often but last week i was unusually busy and the week before that i had a stinking cold, so they didnt get started for their usual little run and i forgot to turn on the gas heaters in the barn due to my woundedness so it got very cold in there hence flat battery.

I had a battery conditioner put on the Bentley, but that is near the house in the garages of which i only have 3 so no room for me Jags, you see :)

Now you made me type all that :D

Lets post loads of maybe's and guesses. It seems that he just didnt realise it was an option :)

Also you are right i thought you had to take them off :)

Ok 2 out of 3 have started, the third one is having none of it.

That car has a 3 month old Bosche silver battery from Halfords, can i just take the dead battery back to Halfords?

How did you determine this?

Because the other 2 started in 1 second on the key, this last one is dead as a do do. Not even enough oomph to work the central locking.
