Just 2 from Manchester Airport today

Nice shots, looks a nice viewing spot. Will have to go there next time, went to the viewing park today. Looked like all the good stuff was happening from the other side where you were.

Did like this spot though..

Not so great for photos, but that moment as they pass right over your head, so low, wow..

Fstop, yes I do mean those tunnels, just take the left at the island just as you come out of the second one and follow the above posted instructions.

I did draw in paint where I was stood and where the planes were taxiing but the PC crashed and lost it, but its not that important, if all else fails just follow someone else who has a camera on them :)

Is it possible to to get to this veiwing area on foot?

Thinking of going to Manchester Airport to get some pictures.
Will be going on the train though..can you give me some directions as to how to get to the veiwing area on foot?

Cheers

Its quite a walk from what I recall. I was there for Concord's last landing and the bus only went half way there. I think it was about 30 - 45 min walk back. I guess it would be longer to Lukechad's secret place.

Where abouts is the look out @ in the Airport?

Is it a good view?

Is it a long way from the Aircrafts take off & landing?

Cheers

Who are you flying with pete and who with? I could well be making another naked appearance on friday if the weather is nice. Also what time is your flight if you dont mind me asking :)

I'm flying with Flyzoom. Flight time is 11am. It'll be the same setup as TerraS shots :)

11am=24L departure 95% of the time. If you are on the left hand side of the plane (seats ABC) then look out for me :p I cant guarantee that you will be taking off the right way, but just as you start to rev up look out for me.

I will stand topless even if its raining if it will help identify me :D

very nice pictures, but no supprise that airliners/jetphotos turned them down, they are so strict on everything and i dont even understand why, ive had EVERY picture ive sent to them fail, except for two at jetphotos :(

i was looking for a "spotters" guide the other day for the london airports (stanstead is my local) but it seems that *ALL* the london airports have no "good" locations to set up a spotting place... which is a bit annoying.

Manchester, which is aparently the best for spotting is about 3hours away for me (and im a new driver) so i cant really get there.... :(

The only airport i can get a good view at is London City, which is a shame, does anyone know any good places at the london international airports???

I know of 2 good places at heathrow.

I dont know directions to the first but its quite famous, its where the traffic has to stop in order to allow the planes to go across to a maintenance hanger. If you ask on the right type of forum someone will help you on that one. I got some on jetphotos from there.... I took this one from there....

Second is somewhere calles Myrtle Avenue, there is a big grass area at the end and its just over the road from one of the runways, if i remember right they only use this runway after 3pm usually, but you can get very nice shots as the planes are that close that you only need a tiny bit of zoom to get them in!

here...

and here....

If you look for myrtle avenue with multimap you should be alright to find it.

Amazingly, the only shot I ever submitted to Airliners got in, and it wasn't that good! Probably let through due to subject rarity or whatever they call it.

Taken through a moving bus window :D
