I have had my Saab 9-3 up for sale for a while without much interest but some guy just rang from Dailymotors.co.uk to say that he had buyers waiting for a vehicle like mine and these buyers would be willing to pay £300 more than I was asking with the finances arranged by Dailymotors ( yeah, I should have known by the name if nowt else )
They would contact these buyers once I registered for a fee of £89.99 which supposedly covers the 3 month warranty that they provide.

Just checked out the site and I'm not impressed; especially when I read the T&Cs which include ...... "Our service to you will start as soon as your vehicle is registered with us and you will have no right to cancel your advertisement with us after placing it, and the normal 7 day cooling off period will not apply."

I gave them my debit card details to register; do you reckon I can cancel it at the bank?

Maybe it is all legit and the phone won't stop ringing with people wanting to view the car but I have a sneeking feeling that I just got conned out of £89.99 and I have no way to get it back.

Ideas, suggestions welcome.:(

Probably not what you want to hear mate, but you've just lost your £90. These companies do this all the time to anyone they see advertising a car.

You can try ringing your bank and seeing if you can cancel the transaction, but i doubt it.

If no monies been taken yet, call your back and tell them under no circumstnaces to allow money to go to these people.

Didn't think a company could ignore consumer law despite what their T&C say?

I rang the bank and they say that the payment needs to clear and then it can be disputed but they can't do anything until the other party claims the payment.

Say your cards been stolen/lost and get it canceled before the payment comes out. They will stop every transaction from the minute you do this.

what! its your money your account, stop the payment, tell them youve been involved in a scam! surely they can do this.

Sorry, but you've just lost £90.

There's **** all you can do about it.

My mum unfortunately got hit by this a few years back (before I had a chance to stop her) and lost I think ~£40 for the same thing.

Another one for this, don't delay...

Be more careful with your bank details dude, if they do take £90, be thankful its only £90, they could be anybody...

Using a debit card is like using cash, you will not get it back.

Ok, I know I should have been more careful but I will be chasing this money; anyone in Ilford wanna pop around and persuade Mr Adrew Jenkins of Daily Motors Ltd 1st Floor 103 Cranbrook Road Ilford Essex IG1 4PU to refund me?

lol, how can we ask him to refund you when you gave him your cc details on a silver platter and said "Charge me!!11"

Seriously, ring up and claim your card has been nicked, they'll lock the account out and I *think* that the transaction will be cancelled, as it takes 3 days to clear anyway, even with a debit card.

Try these for the pain...
