just bought a Nissan 300ZX 3Ltr. Twin turbo

how much?

im guessing it was cheap, they dont seem to go for much!
excellent car for the money tho :D

looks very tidy, skirts are a bit hideous as stated, but rest of it looks awesome, the interior looks absolutely mint, is that aftermarket leather im presuming?

3800 bargain too!

Cool I never knew any of that. Sounds like you know your stuff about these cars :)

Clarkey and 300zxs are legendary, luckily he seems a lot more relaxed about them now :p

Very nice, nearly had one as an upgrade from 200sx but now i only have 250bhp going to the the front wheels :(. Be very carefull exiting bends. ;)

thats completely false, turbo's on these are good for 150k if they are looked after right.
i thought the same RE:70k miles.
turbo's have a specific lifespan regardless of whatever vehicle they're fitted too.

Turbos have a lifespan which is determined by the way they are treated. Turbos can last well over 70k miles if the car gets warmed up and cooled down properly as well as having regular oil changes.

which backs up my point that the vehicle they're fitted to has no bearing on this.

You can treat a Turbo like a god and it can still give up and die easily.
of course it can, it's a component with moving parts and as such it can give up the will to live for no good reason.
but statistically they behave depending on treatment and no on whichever car they are fitted to.

I get asked this loads of time from people who dont know turbo cars. They seem suprised and give me strange looks when I say my 200sx has done >80K, but that I dont just assume that the turbo is about to die.

They can do. I know a guy who needed his changed at about 80K - but hes caned his car since he bought it at 20K.

I know another guy who changed his turbo at 130K for a new one but couldnt tell any difference.
