What model is it?

I've got Tom Tom 6 on my Orange SPV. "Free" phone on contract and cost me about £70 for the software. Easy.

Just don't programme your postcode as a favourite/shortcut into it.

Is this incase someone steals it and finds your home postcode?

I don't understand why that is a bad idea? It's not as if they didn't know about houses there anyway and just because you have a satnav it doesn't mean your house is worth stealing from.

If it's not because of that then maybe I'm missing something obvious! :)

Yeah, but it may present less risk for a burglar who on successfully nicking your car (assuming it wasn't outside your house in the first place) then goes to break in to your house, safe in the assurance that you won't be home. Of course it's not that much less of a risk, you may have someone else at home at the time, etc.
