Just bought me my first sat nav Yeaa

My home postcode was programmed in my satnav that got nicked, I'd love it if the scum turned up on my doorstep so I could smack him with my keyboard a few times

yeah built in sat navs in cars are a favourite to forget about
when i bought my laguna i had a mess about with the sat nav and all of the previous owners destinations were in there and his home address very scary

If it was £200 a competitor certainly not a £200 satnav. Probably worth 50 quid at best and not a very good one.
lol why you gotta be like that? TomTom 500/700 were on sale for £35 last week.

But i guess you knew that LOLZ?!

£35 for a tomtom standalone (any model), where do i sign? I dont even want one (car has satnav) but for that money it would be a great thing to have.

Like I said you will be very lucky to find any sort of bargain now. but there where out there to be had if you VERY quick. and yep fox tom tom 700 was cheap not sure about 35 quid buut I think it was around the 50 - 70 quid mark here in york

You will also find the previous owners details on the V5, whats scary about that ?

It will if you enter it into a satnav system

picture this if u will,
a nice lush car lets say new BMW M3 with built in sat nav sits on the road, tasty some nasty man thinks "ill have a bit of that". nicks car and plays around finds sat nav, finds home address

hmm if he can afford this car what else has he/she got at home.....

the point i was agreeing with (someone else pointed it out) was to never put your home address into your satnav whether it be removable or built in however people sometimes forget about the built in stored locations?

Seriously what has that got to do with anything. A criminal could walk down any given road and see the car on the drive
I think its just technology gets people confused/ paranoid with things like this. There is a chance the above will happen but surely opportunistic theft is much more common, but less sensationalised.

He's only going to get the satnav going once he's nicked the car if he has the keys. You cant hotwire an M3. Thus, if he's got the keys, he's presumably got them by already burgling said house, and already knowing where it is.

You don't need a satnav to show you where the posh houses that are worth a rob are.

ok guys calm down its just a pov surely thats what forums are about, maybe where you live its ok or you have worse things to worry about

We're not the ones losing sleep because we think the Satnav's going to sneak around in the night and let burglars in through the toilet window
