I've played it to death I completed the story long time ago and been working my way round the island in Mercenary mode to try and clear up all the locations.
You get to find hidden locations that do not show up as proper villages etc on the map
I find the city locations the worst as its really difficult when you get to like 97% and cant find that last 3%.
I prefer to play it with minimal mods, I used the ones that got rid of the transitions when you buy equipmnent etc.
I tried the FPS mod but didnt like it so switched back to 3rd person.
Oh and I have the Death Star mod which turns the moon into the death star and the HD cloud mod.
My fav thing at the moment is on the oilrigs hooking up the workers to the inflamable cylinders and setting them off and watching them fire into the sky with the hapless worker in toe behind.
Another one is hooking two civilian vehicles together and watching them trying to tow each other in opposite directions.
There is so much you can do with the game.

Good graphic and all, but repetitive as hell, addictive tho when I played GTA IV i kept pressing 'F' lol
I like few things, the grappler and parachute (however made the game easier as you no longer really need to travel by car/motorcycle as its faster to use parachute). I love flying in this game, in GTA IV the helicopters were difficult to fly. In just cause 2 the stuff you can do is insane, especially helicopters fights and jumping from one helicopter to the other after yours is no longer good to use. I love the map (so huge) and locations.
The only thing was it was a bit too repetitive, it could have multiplayer mode and the cars could be a bit easier to drive, sometimes its difficult to control them.
Overall awesome game.

I'm a little ahead of you
I've only done 30% or so because I did it another run on hardcore, 5 achievements to go
challenges, wrecking ball, all vehicles, bridge flying and the low flyer.
I think cause its cheesy, the sotry sucks and there is just some kind off plastciy feel about it and the shooting seems comedy and not right. It feels like you are shooting plastic toys and using platci guns but maybe its meaning to eb like that. ANyway it does lack a certain polish and feels somethign is missing and very repetitive but its addictve and fun.
yeh I tried fps mod but I dont liek it. I think Ill go back to 3rd person/
Also do you use superman mod? Im in 2 minds about this one.
Its handy to travel about the map fast but sometimes I end up flying all over the place and crashing or dieeng etc..when all I needed was to to a small parachute drop soemplace..So in that case it gets annoying. BUt its good to get roudn the map fast.
Also what you mean mod to get rid off transactions and where can I donwload this..you mean to order stuff without going through cut scneses?

No didn't fancy the superman mod I liked to try and fly stuff properly.
Flying the jumbo jets then ejecting and watching them hurtle groundwards is fun. Also I did find the giant cargo plane too, think its the one modelled on the huge Russian cargo plane, biggest one in the world ? That was fun to fly.
One thing I could never figure out was when you are being attacked by a helicopter I can tether to it and hang underneath but is it not possible to hijack it like you can with the cars ?

One of the fun things you can with the Supermand mod is intercept planes and then get into them hee hee. So youre walking along and you spot a jet up there. Whooosh ur off...fly alongside it in formation...just over the wing...and then hop on it. Good stufff!
Also it is impossible to fly the planes properly because the developers did not include a rudder control which is why the planes fly like trash and feel like elephants. The small airplanes should turn on a dime but they take forever! Wish they would patch that bit then nicking planes would be fun
yes you can hijack the helicopters in the game - swing up (up arrow I think) - then you can shoot (if you have ammo) the co-pilot - then you swing in and have a go at the pilot.

ive collected 101 out of 100 drug drops, blown up 101 out of 100 propaganda trailers and destroyed 403/400 generators. ive also read that the game lists 221 water towers but infact only has 220... are there any other things that are wrongly listed in this game ? :/

I just started playing this after picking it up in the steam sale. The shooting is crap, and so is the driving. I was really looking forward to flying around the island, but after realising the planes don't have rudder control that's ruined as well. Is there any point in playing on? Probably not
No there's still a bugged water tower in mine and also one of the oil rigs can be bugged depending on how the mission with it went.

I got it ages ago with one of my GPUs, but never used it for anything other than benchmarking. What a waste that was! This game is awesome...
I love the grappling hook / parachute combo, and the world is just so huge and varied. Some of the challenges seem disproportionately hard though... Even the 3* car and boat challenges are pretty easy, but the plane ones are all tough, and the base-jump ones seem near-impossible! It must have taken me 30 tries to get the first base jump challenge ("twin jump") and maybe 20 for the second. I've watched a few youtube videos of people base-jumping, and they all seem so stable while they fall - but when I try to move mid-air I just spin all over the place! Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

playing this at the moment, really great game for just plugging an hour so on in the evening when I get the time, the entire game is just mess around as much as you can! ive warmed up to the shooting and while the cars handle like their on ice it can still be fun to lose control, barrel off a cliff and parachute to safety.

I've taken to starting a session with an attack on a military base to get warmed up. My attacks usually start with me aiming a plane at the juiciest target and bailing out at the last second

I suppose it is way cooler to surf in on your guided missile than to sit in its cockpit.
