Just cause 3

Seems to be an even split on gamepad or mouse and keyboard for this, I'm not sure which to use now, guess I'll just have to try both and just see which feels right.

was it a driver crash? that's what happened to me

Not sure, didn't blue screen just stopped working. Sent off the crash dump.

I couldn't get MSI ab working yesterday, just used the steam fps overlay and the msi stuff on my 2nd screen. Not ideal but it will do.

Ive been using the KB and mouse... might steal my wired Xbox controller back later to try it

yea mines done the same but it did give me a flash up saying the display driver had stopped working.

Im just on a single monitor so havent managed to get the ab overlay showing ive had to use the steam fps overlay. as you say not ideal but does the job.

I don't understand how Nvidia (when working together to implement Gameworks and slaps their name on the box) allows developers to come out without proper SLI support.

I mean it looks even worst when they advertise their own features in those games...
Nvidia doesn't control what developers do. If the Avalanche engine just wont work properly with multi-GPU setups, there's nothing Nvidia can do about that. Doesn't mean they cant still add in some of their own tech to provide optional graphical features.

I've been enjoying it, still not ventured off the first island yet, I've just finished taking over all of the settlements and bases. It's either the way I'm playing the game compared to Just Cause 2, or it feels like there is more structure to this game than the previous one - don't ask me why I think that.

Got most settings on high or set to on at 1080p and it runs reasonably well on my HD7970. It has held off the itch I wanted to scratch last week by upgrading my graphics card, but I think I'll leave it for now seeing as this game runs well. Had a couple of crashes yesterday evening which was solved by not using 1080p temporarily and then installing AMD Beta drivers this morning.

good to know the 7970 is still holding its ground.. one of the reasons I upgraded from the 7950 was this game was coming out ;)

Ive still got JC2 installed on my machine and still have the odd go at it.

How does that work? Can it be saved onto an external drive in case i format? Or burnt onto a CD?

Ive got my steam library on a slave drive so if I need to format my system drive once I install steam I just point it towards the library that's already on the slave drive and it works and doesnt need to download it again.

Is the game actually loaded onto your drive 100%? Sorry for noob questions but not done this before

yip you just point steam to it when setting it up. that's all ive done the last few times ive done a fresh install.

also once you have a steam account you can re-download it from steam if required as all you're games are saved to your account

I like the idea as it saves me having discs lying near my pc for my youngest to get hold off. the only down side is my internet is that slow it takes an age to down load it
