Just cause 3

970@1500mhz, 4790k, 8gb of vram. The in-game v-sync is borked and drops to 30fps all the time so I thought forcing it through the nvidia control panel would solve everything but it didn't help.

I've disabled bokeh and motion blur and only use FXAA. Dropping LOD and Shadows to high doesn't do much either. Surprisingly, GTA at 1440p runs a lot better than this.

Weird, I have a 970 and a 3770k OC and have it maxxed including AA at 1920 x 1200 and it never goes below 60?

Would 16GB of ram be sensible with this game?

Im running with 16gb of ram and im not having the issues that some mention.

I have had a few niggles but not just in this game. ( game would freeze and I had to reset the system ) I had the same issue with Dirt Rally

but since ive put my ram settings back to stock ive not had any issues at all.
I had been playing with the xmp profiles so being honest... this was possibly my fault...

I've run Just Cause 3 with 8GB 2666Mhz and now run it with 16GB 2133MHz. No issues with either, no crashes, no freezes, no FPS drops etc. Rest of the spec in signature.

yea youre more or less the same spec as my self bar my ram is running at stock 1600mhz

Im wanting to get faster ram and the corsair vengeance that's in mine will get split with my niece and my lenovo 8gb to each of them is the plan

Ah sorry, missed that!

I kinda regret going 1440p since this game is absolutely unplayable for me unless I turn off SSAO, and that really hurts the visuals. I'm willing to drop other settings down but none of them make much difference performance-wise.

I tried dropping to 1080p but the shimmering and bluriness is distracting (32" screen:(). Plus, I had another crash shortly after switching to 1080p.

yea Im happy on 1080p for the moment. and after reading the problems some are having it confirms my thoughts on staying with 1080p but just going for a 144hz monitor.

Sorted out the "No loading screen mod" yesterday, removes the deckchair on the beach for ages intro screen.

Also picked up a trainer & a mod which maxes out the wingsuit and teather options but not had a chance to test them yet. Simple download and extract to the game folders.

Just make sure you have a backup as with any mod it may break afetr patches etc.

Got them from JC3 Mods via Google. Can't link as the work PC is restricted.

Not that long a wait!

I am going to re start the game and this time do mission by mission instead of mindless carnage!! lol

Good stuff man!! I will look into this later as the intro screen annoys me.

Starting to get more into this now as I'm trying to find unique ways to liberate areas rather than just using the rocket launcher and guns for everything.

Although its resulting in more enemies getting hung from things lol

The tethering is such a fantastic thing. Really makes the game fun!

I love the combination of tethering and wingsuit for endless flying fun.

Although tethering people to things, other people etc is just hilarious.

For the graphics post above:
I am running at 1440p with everything maxxed out and it runs fine. Very occasionally I get a dip when there is a lot of things happening, explosions/bodies flying etc. Not enough of a drop to warrant concern or wasted time messing with settings.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't waste my time messing about with the settings or turning stuff down if I had a 980Ti:p Sadly, I don't and the framerate's a mess at 1440p.

I don't really know what's happening but it seems to perform randomly. I've only played for three hours since the game's release and two of those I've spent tinkering with settings and looking for workarounds:p

There is a bit of a leak apparently when yo have been playing for a while.

How long can you play before you notice the drops?
