Just gave blood again, do you?

Never got round to doing it, really. I keep meaning to, but they tend to do it when I'm at work or when I have an early start the next day.

I'm going to have to wait until June anyway if I want to as I had my lip pierced at the end of January and they say to wait 4 months.

Wow, how bad do you eat dude? I would, but I take 2 pills a day for my heart now. Well 3, but 1 is Aspirin, so that 1 is not special.

What was the previous limit, i have always just gone when the next date was, they never turned me away saying i was coming to often. Usually falls every 3 months.

It used to be a minimum of 16 weeks between donations - now it's a minimum of 12 weeks for men so us alpha males can donate 4 times a year now - women can still only donate 3 times a year :)

Going to donate for the first time in 13 days :)

Good on you, also have them take the blood from the arm you do not write with.

I know it sounds daft but on rare occasions some things can go wrong, better its in the arm you don't write with.

Although maybe in today's modern age it should be opposite to your mouse hand.

I gave yesterday afternoon for the 17th time.

On my way to my Silver card, really looking forward to that.

If anyone isn't registered here

I really recommend you get on it as it lets you see how they use your blood, tells you exactly when you can give again and also lets you see what specific appointments are available and book them, rather than +/- 15 minute malarky regular customers have to use.

And even though men can give blood every 12 weeks the donations people only come every 4 months anyway, bit of a con.

I started giving blood a couple of years ago but it was somewhat erratic for family health reasons. Last year I started donating platelets and now I give 3 units every fortnight unless something beyond my control prevents me. Not only am I helping others in need but it is way of giving something back to the NHS, which as an organisation does so much for my family, especially my son.

The staff at the local donor centre are absolutely fantastic too. I look forward to my visits and my cups of tea and biccies :D

Not allowed to give blood after living in the UK, damn BSE scare

Anyway, i find it much more effective to collect other people blood and donate that, since personally you can only donate every 3-4 months the rest of the time you are better collecting other peoples blood when they sleep.
