Just got my first points i think!

I was flashed by a scamera last week, though it was a gatson head on, so chances are I'll be ok !

Hate scamera's though... if I do get caught front on, I won't be happy at all, was placed on the corner of a road, and the flash meant i nearly drove into the back of someone... ****s

AFAIK their equipment doesn't work through glass. If they are on the nick they will have one of the windows open.

Please wait for someone to confirm before celebrating though :)

I got an SP30 nip through from christmas eve.
This goes with the existing SP30 I have on my licence and the impending SP30 that I am currently fighting.

I've had a clean licence for 9 years, and then this lot happened in the space of a few months.

I've just ordered a parking sensor device to reduce the likelihood of getting to the magical 12 points.

And yes, I know I have nobody to blame but myself. :(

the home office guidelines are speed+10%+2mph.
but the individual forces can abide by,or ignore them should they choose to.

btw the 10% is to allow for your speedo over-read, not to take off AS WELL.

If they allow a true 78mph, then your speedo will probably be reading nearer and indicated 85mph.

Do you find hardly using any punctuation whatsoever helps you to avoid speeding fines?

Do you find advising people on there grammar over the internet make your e-penis any bigger?. Take a look at my previous posts I do use grammar, prehaps this time i didn't want to or simply couldnt be ****ed?, don't like it you know what to do ;).

to be honest with you, i'm not sure if those HO guidelines are only intended for lower speed limits.
after all you don't really have much of a defence if your showing an indicated 85 in a 70 limit.
"oops" wouldn't really cut it :D

However, your speedo may be correct (or even under-read), so they make some allowances. It means that most people will be reading well over 70mph before the police care.

and that's as it should be.
to allow drivers a little indiscretion here and there while still staying legal.

:p ;) You're right, DRZ was very rude.

Aren't the type of camera vans described (blackened windows) usually ANPR?

Yay we have another one, wish we could get a section set up for the anally retentive.

Calm it, I'm on your side! :D

I'm pretty sure the van you saw wasn't a camera van- or if it was it wasn't in use when you sped past it. The laser & camera cannot be used through glass so if what you described was all you saw then I wouldn't worry too much.

You should know better, you should be concentrating on your speed, not the road ahead .

Seriously though, this is what makes the autobahns ideal, you ignore the speed your driving at as it doesn't matter, instead your brainpower goes into concentrating entirely on the road ahead and the conditions.

and, given that their accident rates are almost identical to ours with the exception of the fact that due to higher speeds their RTA's are always more extreme than ours with a higher fatality rate, that proves what exactly?

it takes me somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 a second to check my speedo.
i put more thought than that into what's on the radio/cd.
