just got my ocuk 3800 X2 good stepping?

How's your temp's so high?

It's at 34C at idle but 55C on load
The winchester that was in there before was 34C at idle and 44C on load; I just assumed the difference was because there were 2 cores?

As there's problems with this setup I'm now gonna try it in a MSI Neo2 - see if it's any better there!

I had an OPTI 144 @1.45v - 46c load.

I'm getting 42c on P95, But s&m gives me higher temps at load.

These are just my figures, could be out!

EDIT!

I just saw on another thread that DFI boards can be out as much as 10c

Your temps prb are right, mine wrong.

Sh***.

These current week 21/22/23 manchester cores suxx, too power hungry. The toledo/E6 cores are much better, higher oc on lower volts. Going to sell my week 23 and get something else.

My DFI mb needs to provide higher than 1.47v LDT to get 2.7ghz 100% stable, which it currently cant do. vcore is at 1.65, cpu temp is 38c idle, 47 load.

can do 10x270 1.62
9x300 1.65
8x340 1.65

Tried all the dividers to eliminate ram being the issue, pretty sure its an LDT issue because if I oc to 2.6ghz with LDT at 1.47 its stable, but as soon as I drop LDT even at 2.6ghz, it becomes unstable.

Shame, I should have grabbed one of them early 2006 manchesters.
Ok, please tell me what LDT voltage has to do with the CPU overclock as LDT is the Northbridge voltage and AFAIK you only need to increase it when going >300Mhz HTT(FSB)

LDT is the HTT Multiplier (LDT = Lightning Data Transport)

Not sure if adjusting it on your system will affect your overclock/stability, but with my x2 3800 it does, just that I need more than 1.47, which is the max my mb gives me to get 2.7ghz stable.

With my previous cpu (Opteron 144) using the same mb, I didnt need to adjust the LDT voltage, it stayed at default 1.2v and I had the cpu overclocked to 9x310 with ram running 1:1

The stepping on mine is LDBFE 0623XPMW. Haven't had a change to test it yet, as the rest of my rig's still on order but I was wondering if anyone else has got the same stepping & what sort of an O/C do you think should be achievable?

Same stepping as me - I have so far hit 2500mhz at default voltage (1.35v), with load temp only 2 degs above stock load. I feel there is plenty left in this overclock. Ive only done Prime95 for 8hrs at this setting, without errors. What test should I be doing? Currently, I have been doing Small FTT`s - should I be doing Large FTTs ?

Looking good so far. Hope the rest goes that way.

Large FTTs will only test more of your ram. It will put more pressure on your system rather than CPU for a greater system stability. I usually use memtest for my ram and prime95 for my cpu. Occasionally I do use Large FTT's to test too though.

Just got mine.. LDBFE 0610 TPFW. I cried when it wouldn't do a high 300fsb/htt to begin with like my old 3200+. But then I managed 2.5ghz at stock volts  Time for more clocking..

Neo2 much better than ArSock Dual; but it still don't like the OCZ RAM :(

But the Mushkin runs 1:1 @1T 2.5-3-3-7 with all OCs I've tried to now.

2.45GHz runs @ 1.32v; 2.5GHz @ 1.38v and 2.6GHz @ 1.47v
Temps on dual prime: 47; 48 and 52C.

Far from spectacular; expected more @ stock volts; will now see how much further it will go; then prolly use 24/7 @ 2.5GHz until I can afford one of those new fangeled intel things ;)

If you want to test for maximum heat output give SnM a go, gets my CPU hotter than anything else I have tried
