A bmw k100 flat 4 8v

Planning on going for the hotrod look (not cafe racer)

This is my mates one which am going along the same lines

And the one i just got!

Plans so far is take of plastic,speedo,bars
then cut down exhaust plus lower forks (not in the yokes but shorten inner legs)
Trying to find old ford round headlight and some exhaust wrap
cut the back off and make round bar. Plus seat base and new seat and take paint off tank.

So I've been a busy boy

Forks shorten by one 'n' half inches
suzuki efe headlight
paint taken off the tank
Rear sub frame cut and welding round bar for seat pan.
Exhaust are beenin' done at the moment (got me a pipe bender )
They will come out the side of the block like top fuel drag racer style
Exhaust wrap cus' am cool
Nice ol' skool lookin' bars from 1970
Brooks bicycle rope grips for the ol' look
Hand made mudguard from the English wheel

Am thinking of ditching the F.I system and sticking some carb's on it for velo stacks

FI= fuel injection and not forced induction right?...

Sorry ment fuel injection. This is very early Injection system and works well. Only thing is the air flow meter is a right pain to get around
Am wanting to bye pass this and the only way to do it would be carbs from some 600cc thing.

I'm liking this, not my cuppa, but great seeing projects like this. What finish you going for on the tank then?

Tank is going to be scotch brite all over for the "dull" look also the rocker covers might also get it to!!
I also have a spare tank which is been painted soon. The theme will be the ww2 shark teeth.

Got a sun visor strip i need to weld on to the head light when i get time

Hoping to get it on the road for winter but with all projects.......

Awaiting on fork seals,exhaust gaskets,oil and that all adds up!

Without wishing to sound like a kill-joy, don't you need the gold homologation sticker on the back to be legal?

peripheral vision of the simpson helmet makes them not for the road.. So I've been told. I don't mind tho kind of got used to it now.

As for the Exhaust that will not be near me (side of block) keeps it away from me

Tank went to my friend last night. Lucky for me he has a sand/soda blast machine
That should get the rest of the paint off pretty good.

Brakes stripped and cleaned last night (they where pretty good)
Making seat unit over the weekend

would have like to of done my seat unit base this evening but wife thinks better

Getting my tank back Monday after soda blasting
Then I'll get some fuel lines sorted out (clear ones)

So It's been a long weekend for me.
First up my Honda firestorm gave up on me front cylinder has gone bust. Then I hope on to my srad 750 3 miles later that went bang! All in the space of 12 hours

Good news is working on the bmw
So far I've made the rivets and sorted them and making spacers to fit the on the mounting points from brass to.

Also dome headed the bolts

Flat four been around awhile now
They did the 8v flat four and the 16v
The output is pretty low but the best bike for smiles n' miles

So the bad news is the Rm is broken
Needs gear box rebuild, wiring sorted out etc!

So I gone back to working on the bmw.
Sorted and shaped mudguard stay's and shorted brass spacers to.

Then started dome heading all the bolts I could get my hands on

And started the seat base to

Was going to use this sign as a seat base but now am about to order some 2mm think alloy sheet.
