Just got nicked

He's not asking for sympathy though is he, just saying he's been nicked. I think I know what road he is talking about too, if it is the one I'm thinking of, it's just before an nsl road starts and the corner he went round is the last one before the limit goes to nsl. Police like to hang out at this spot quite a lot too.

Hes trying to get off knowing full well he did it though. 43 in a 30 will be pushing on 50 indicated so you should be a man and take the points.

I have heard of someone being caught for 93 in a 60 from an unmarked Volvo that was parked in a layby. Hardly visible? Deserved to get caught though.

I hardly push the limits in town etc. I do set off from junctions quickly though to get out the way of people. Very small town/village and very very busy. Wall to wall cars! It's all too easy to get caught in the middle of the road setting off calmly and someone else coming along without looking. Everyone seems to daydream round here! That and every junction is almost blind to the point that sometimes I feel like shutting my eyes and praying nothing is coming!

As for the people who want to go past, I won't let them pressure me into speeding. Its fun watching them charge past for no reason and then get nicked 500 yards down the road with a face like a slapped backside.

It's easy to speed in an nsl and round the twisties. In town its hard enough to avoid accidents within the limits, never mind pushing it.

We live and learn and at the end of the day there is always gonna be someone pushing it even harder and you then think to yourself "what an idiot" and it clicks to yourself to get back to basics and drive safely.

Hate typecasting folks but they tend to be either 33 year old women with a black or silver VW Golf full of screamin kids, or a bloke of similar age perhaps usually driving a red, blue, black or silver Ford of some descroption.

Mondeo drivers tbh, especially the silver variety. ;) :p :D

sorry ive got no sympathy for you at all, theres no excuse for speeding at all in a 30, especially 13 over the limit

I posted a thread a while back about me getting pulled over by police. I set off from some traffic lights and must have hit 60mph before I noticed a car overtaking another car in my rear mirror.

I knew what was coming and so pulled over further up the road. That was in a 30 limit.

Sure, it was damn stupid, but it was 10:30pm at night. There were no kids around, no elderly people crossing the road, and no kittens to kill.

I learnt my lesson and very luckily got off with it. The OP appears to have been caught around midnight, again when there was no-one around... so very little danger there.

However, you wouldn't EVER catch me speeding in a 30 limit during the day.

wheres the reeducation.
where's the reason?
re-education is introduced when people need reminding of rules/operating procedures.if anyone has forgotten what a red circular sign with a large 50 on it means then they shouldn't be driving. period.
unless of course you mean there should be some re-education as an alternative to points and a fine.
here's my take on that, if you fine drivers and the points you give them increase their premiums and they still don't slow down, i doubt that sitting in a classroom being told "you're a very naughty boy"would either

but wheres the punishment.
the fine+possible hike in your insurance premium.

Really  Looks like the rules in the UK are different to here in Holland, they hide the things in trashcans and behind bridges here so that they are not visible at all :(
IIRC the green light has been recently given for the above to be brought in here too.
