Just had a break in, lost all my pc bits ;(

Oh Wow, i feel for you, all your hard earned pennies and some scum nicks it, i hope COSO picks something up, Wish you the best with the insurence. also keep an eye out for dogey computer selling, check ebay and set a mile radius from your house and see if something looks simular

couple years back my friends dad had his Laptop stolen, funny thing that it was painted a custom logo, couple days later using the search option above he was able to locate it on ebay! lol

thats sick man, if i lost my pc id be gutted, to much collecting over hte years, all my films, music, porn the lot . Gonna take my pc to work tommorow just incase.

I Hope u get it sorted mate and for donaions i have a pentium d stock cooler
 
Well thats one Pentium stock cooler replaced!

Really hope the insurance sort this out, theres far too much lost that i know they wont even know what it is!
 
Start making a list of everything ycan remember - goes without saying.

Next is gatherin all the proof ya can - if you have posted photos of past builds, then d/load and print hard copies, or get in touch with friends you may have swapped build pics with while chatting in msn and the like.

I had a friend go thru his home and work pc and he was able to send me back some of my last PC which got frazzled when our house got hit by lightning recently - was pretty handy. Id passed him pics of the machine itself and also a screenie of it sat at 3.4ghz with System Properties dialogue open and Coretemp showing what cpu I had in there. I know its pretty shaky but any proof y'can find is gonna help.
 
I bet the chav who stole it has no idea of it's value.. probably sell it for £50.

Someone somewhere will get a very good deal.

I'd be raging if someone stole mine. :mad:

:(Sorry jessjess about your set up getting stolen thats really harsh, hope you have no problems with claiming on your insurance tomorrow.
 
not good man, i would say to hunt him down and kill him but its unlikely to find out who it was? if you have rough times you can get copies of all CCTV in your area.. actually pretty easy
 
Id be totally gutted too if someone nicked my pc, but I guess thats a good thing about living in the countryside. They would have to brake my antec 900 if they wanted to get inside, cos I have security screws on the side panels, that are impossiible to unscrew without the tool that the screws came with. I guess I should replace the card screws with them too, then If the managed to get in the case, they couldnt really change the case cos, they would have to spend hrs trying to get the card screws out.... My moto is....... if I cant have it no one else can have it either, or no one can take it apart without busting it anyway.:D

My main backup and file server is in a locked cupboard and would be a shock for any would be thieves that open it, won't go into details.
 
Do you have a cex store near you, if so keep an eye out there for your stuff, if u got the boxes with serial numbers on itd be easy to prove there yours

like you i think i would be more bothered about my collection off bits very hard to replace .
 
you know if you really had that much stuff go it would have taken a few of them to shift it surely. and them being so spacific about what they took. prolli someone you know who knew what you had.

if this happened to me i think id be more impressed that they managed to pick up a solid alu lian-li fully loaded. with its 5hdds and cpu cooler and other components i can hardly pick the damn thing up. think i had to have a little sitdown after i carted it upstairs. ofcourse id then remember all the naked pics of my girlfriend and probably have to leave the country before she found them all over the internet....

sorry to hear about it anyway. i seem to have quite a collection of kit from over the years. to much infact but i'd miss it if i just lost it in one fell swoop.

Yeah, sounds like that to me. I thought burglars just tended to smash and grab whatever they could that they could easily sell, jewellery, dvd players etc. Didn't think they go for PC hardware, but I guess anything's fair game to scum :(
