Just How Powerfull are Deltas *With a Twist*

To all of those who are going on about physics...

Get a Delta.
Just one.

THEN tell us it will not cut you.

My flatmate has a delta - And has taken a little chunk out of his little finger.
(At the very outside, a bit of nail went with it too)

Even the 3 bladed fans at work would give you a bruise.
(But are very rounded as not to whine even louder)

I recon something like a carrot, only longer and thinner - So it will cut it into chunks.
Say the core of a carrot? (The lighter bit)

That way you can keep feeding it in. :D

a potentially brilliant and very bloody geeky jackass at that, im sure a delta wouldn't do your manhood much harm, superficial harm at best, now a car radiator fan, thats a different story ;)

Edit: and physics is right 99% of the time, deltas ARE NOT massive enough to cause you any serious harm, hell a roof fan isn't even heavy enough to cause you any serious harm, my mate caught his forearm in one and it gave him a bruise, nothing more and i bet a roof fan hitting your arm has a LOT more energy than a delta, do the maths...

Should be looking at 240v fans really, they'll have more torque than 12v fans.

If I stick my manhood into it the blades will snap and I'll feel no pain. I'm that tough..grrr :p
my balls retracted inside my body just at the thought of applying my manhood into a delta

I got hold of a 120x76mm delta (the dual fan in one delta)

i spent a few hours chucking cheapo erasers at it and watching them get minced :D

What do you actually use it for?

quite a few things:

its part of a homemade smoke machine
hoover
general noise maker
duster
changing the direction of the air comming from the aircon unit
extracting farts
and blending.

I like the carrot idea thats good, make sure you have a EHE version (its faster) but whatever you do dont put a screwdiver into it because that will be the last test you do! And if you really wanna see all the fan blades fly into your face you better hope your wearing some goggles or something :)

Put more soft things through it before the screwdiver and other objects that arnt going to break :p

Too all you people that are saying that putting your finger in a delta fan wont hurt, you obviously havent done it before because it quite obviosly DOES! :D

lol should've seen when my mate tryed cooling his ancient system with car radiator fan motor, it went violently flying off the desk, deltas are amateur, starter motors are where its at

Mmmm perhaps a cam to translate the rotational movement of the fan into a linear movement. It could then be used to drive some tool in an up and down motion. This could be used by girls for fun, or by guys as an impact hammer. It will also blow away any swarfe and cool the impact area. ;)

Bah ... I think I have 2 Papst 240V 120mm fans at home, metal frame, but very heavy hub and blades.

Would definitely donate if I could get them, I am home in a couple of weeks though, so I'll remember to bring them back with me
