just started playing oblivion

i need to remember all the mods i used to use,

just rebought the game of the year edition, includes the expansions.

No Psychic Guards is a must.
Along with open cities.

Any others for suggestions?

I feel the need to play this again. I was a thief type character and really enjoyed doing the thieves guild thing, not so much becoming a vampire..

I never got into the magic side of things... But I'd quite like to.
Can someone please spec me a character with skills for a magicy person and a thiefy person.

Preferably one that doesn't look like a cat.

isn't that a 5k bounty though? or you using the no psychic guards mod?

Not using any cheat mods. I can't remember which town this was, but I was in sneak mode with a dim crosshair, so nobody was looking. No bounty in the screen... *shrug*

My mage is a Breton (i think! :D), has Magic specialty, born under the mage, Intelligence and Willpower, main skills: Destruction, Alteration, Restoration, Mysticism (which I'm not that sure on yet...), Conjuraion, Light armour and Sneak.

The only downside is lack of strength for looting, so drive that feather spell up!

3x Damage for Sneak attack with Poisonous arrows which drain health is where its at :D

with deadly reflex if you get a critical on a chest hit you pierce their lung and they fall to their knees drowning and gurgling in their own blood :D

Oh and the no psychic guards isn't a cheat mod, it just changed the guard crime detection range to the same as the voice instead of the 3000+ it was before so now they don't just randomly know hen you've killed someone in their home unless they happen to be just outside at the time.

I'm having trouble finding spells that kill enemy mobs without draining my entire mana pool....
I'm level 13 and have a two punch attack:
Spell 1, on touch: Weakness to fire 100% for 10 sec / 12pts Fire damage per second for 2 seconds.
Spell 2, on touch: Fire damage 22pts per second for 2 seconds.

This kills most critters, but I really struggle with troll mages and skeletal guardians (i.e. lucien lachances fort guardians), and the combo wipes out 3/4 of my mana...

Any tips?

Try making a spell with a combination of elements e.g. 10pts fire and 10pts frost, and be sure to make good use of Welkynd Stones.

There's a whole load of info on using magic (and anything else) here.

Really dissapointed with the arena quest :(

I managed to do the whole thing with justmy fists and no armour except what your given and no training in hand to hand. Most of them were 1 hit kills...

Instead i decided to try and take on the Imperial City with fists. WTFPwned!

I'm finding the arena a moderate challenge, now that I've worked out how the weakness spells work though I hope to improve :) I think I'm up against the twins next, early days yet! :)

I'm back on the main questline though right now, I want to get it done before I level too high as apparently it becomes very difficult.

Can anyone tell me, if I'm using a fire spell, do I gain extra damage by using weakness to magic as well as weakness to fire in the primer spell? Are either of the two a better choice to use?
I dont think I have weak to magic yet, just weak to fire...

No idea about the magic side of things im afraid as i am not really a mage type player! Think i have one basic heal spell and one basic fire spell.

Im curious why people are saying not to level too much before completing the main quest... Im lvl 24 atm and just made my way back to the imperial city. Have not broken a sweat over any part of the quest yet and have found some goblin caves to be harder in fact. (10+ lvled goblins with glass weapons still hurts us) Am i right in thinking that i will have some kind of bosses to fight that will level with me as i have yet to see any...

I think the concern is that you have guards fighting with you who become weaker as you level, and in some cases it can make main quest battles very unfavourable.

*Spoilers* (not major spoilers)

Kill a random innocent, you will get a message about being observed then rest. then let the good times roll :)

the game is MUCH better with these dudes, + for such simple and easy quests the rewards will kit you out very well
