No one could be intimidated by something that big, pure yobbery ****

Can someone post a picture of how big a 10 week old puppy is? I am no dog expert and would just like to see how much of a "threat" it was.

Doh, should have read the second page as well!
But no threat at all, that just makes this story even sadder.

We can't tell what the situation was or the intentions of the person who kicked it.

It could well be the dog was running at them barking and he just kicked it to get it away (some people have an irrational fear of all dogs).

Or he could have seen it coming at him and taken a good kick at it square in the face.

Only thing you can say for sure is you should keep your dog on a lead in a public space if you can't control it (and who can control an untrained puppy?)

How can you be scared of a 10 week old Jack Russell puppy. It wouldnt have looked vicious in any way at all, it would have bumbled up to them in that malcoordinated manner that puppies have possibly barking with the least threatening yap in the world... just to be kicked in the face by a piece of scum. I realise you aren't defending them but stop making excuses for them.

To the "its just a dog" brigade...

To some people, they aren't "just dogs", they are adoring members of the family. My dog means as much to me as my daughter, and I would act the same if someone was trying to hurt either of them.

We have a couple of cats. Obviously there is an emotional investment but that doesn't mean that a dog/cat/house pig has the same legal right to life as a human.

Its a different argument. So expecting someone to go to prison for a number of years for killing a dog is somewhat unreasonable.

I think you will just have to except like me that not everyone has morals.

The piece in the cambridge news makes it clearer what actually happened, he stamped on it.

I'd guess he was trying to be cool in front of his mates, with some luck one his mates will report him but as I said before - don't expect any serious punishment like jail time, just won't happen.

If he does get reported though just his family and friends knowing would be enough to put a big dent in his life, hopefully, maybe his family and friends are even worse.

Anything can scare someone and you don't know how you will react. Fair enough, if he did it for fun, then he is obviously scum and deserves what he'll get; If he just reacted however i.e it ran up behind him and barked (even if it is a small dog) can frighten you quite a bit! (I've had many dogs and small dogs.)

Even so, he will still deserve more than what he gets for killing a domestic animal.

I have been in a situation where my dog was shot twice because a farmer thought it was hassling his sheep - which it was proven wasn't. He even gave his unlicensed 17 year old son the gun to finish it in our own yard, any my step-mum was in the kitchen at the time!

All he got was a £100 fine and nothing more - Does anyone think this was fair?

I feel sorry for the little girl in any case. :(

Reading this topic really got to me, i can't believe some sick **** out there would do such a thing to a harmless little puppy. No way could you be intimidated by a 10 week old jack Russell, i don't care who you are. I would love to catch the scum that did this and kick the **** out of them :mad::mad::mad::mad:

So what was the outcome of this after ?

story reported sensationaly turned out to be an accident or what ?

or the hoody kids (shock horror) where infact a bit OTT or scared of dogs or something all abit over reactionary ?

either way kicking a dog to death is pretty messed up - accident or not
