Good story.. Too many rights and protection for offenders today and not enough backing for the victims.

Absolutely.

I am firmly of the opinion that if someone comes into your home like this then you should be able to do whatever you like to stop them (including beating them to death). Unfortunately the law protects those who themselves break the law in the worst possible manner.

POW!
RIGHT IN THE KISSER!

I look forward to a few years time reading about the pensioner again after reading this:

...we are pleased he won't be troubling us for a few years," he added.

What kind of pathetic little **** can't handle a 72 year old pensioner, despite being armed with a knife?

He got what was coming to him, and I hope he gets more in prison. :D

Any bets on him being done for assault?

Sure, I've got £5 that says he won't be done for assault.

I wouldn't be surprised if it happened:rolleyes:.

This happened last year and the case is now closed. He wasn't done for assault, and the ****** who broke into his house has been jailed. Email in trust; I look forward to receiving £5. ;)
