Kameo revisited.

Having got stuck and frustrated on COD2 "comrade sniper" (the last bit with the halftrack) I thought I'd have another look at kameo as I never really got stuck into it.
I'm at the water temple and have to fight the boss creature by pinging bomb fruits into it with major ruin and then jumping into the water as deep blue to shoot its orbs off (oooher).
I'm stuck, I just can't stay alive long enough and deep blue is a pig to control and shoot with. Well more of a fish than a pig , but you know what I mean.

Did anyone else find this bit rather tough? My resilient patience seems to have become a puny and substanceless visage now :( I thought if I just ignored the irritation it would disappear and in a moment of clarity it would be over and I wouldn't have to see the creature again, alas despite my best efforts I'm in limbo whilst the irritating blob continues to thwart me.

My Girlfriend found that the hardest level of all, it got easier when she turned back to the hoovering women to get away from the lightening

hoovering women? sounds like the wife lol.

That's pretty much what I did just turned back into Kameo when he did his lightning thing and flew around then when he stopped back to major ruin....certainly the hardest part of the game I encountered.

Do you find deep blue hard to control aim and fire as well?
I find deep blue the absolute worst character so far and underwater I can't seem to get the camera where I need it.

Yep Deep Blue is horrible to control, I remember reading somewhere a chat with the Rare guys and they where talking about controlling him and how he pretty much sucked to control really :)

I think I just jumped in the water so I had the underwater view then you don't really have to move just aim in the general direction of the orbs and shoot.

The Deep Blue/Tentacled Boss is regarded as the hardest boss out of them all - and he is some hassle, and deep blue's control method doesn't help. Hint: Invert his controls in the menu to make it easier. I can't remember if you need to invert the X or Y controls though, one of them should do it.

I found this pretty easy - Am I a freak? :D

Simply stay as Major Ruin and stay the hell out of the puddles of water on the floor.

Watch where Coralis moves as he will always go to 1 of the 4 'ramps' where you can launch the bombs at him. Waiting at one of the ramps (out of the water!) tends to make him come visit....Watch for the lightning attack as well. When it starts move the other way as fast as possible. Even if it means giving up a shot at damaging Coralis.

Punt a bomb in his direction and immediately charge into the water if you knw the bomb will hit (you can tell after a little practice :p)

Switch to Deep Blue and go to work on the orb thingys - you should be able to get 2 while Coralis has a bath. Repeat once more and winnar \0/

Health is available in boxes all the way around the arena and plentiful so that shouldn't be a problem.

If you still have issues with Deep Blue as mentioned you could try inverting the controls (Y Axis I believe) which should make swimming easier.

Beyond that I can't really help bar doing it for you :p Also if your struggling here I'd worry when you go to the Icy world....

If thats the hardest part of the game I'm laughing.

I did it first time, although had to wait about 5 minutes to get the last bomb to hit correctly as the boss wouldnt line up properly.

It will probably be something I go back to when I'm bored of Oblivion.

Yeah unfortunately this is the hardest bit,, Ive just finished the game and I liked it but a bit dissapointed as theres no real challenges, i would have liked a few more puzzles, in fact I never even upgraded any of my warriors I was saving up all my fruits and got about 60 but the end of the game came too soon so i never got too use them..

Actually about the challenge, although the main game is pretty easy Ive just been trying to unlock the extra features, you get the option to replay levels using the magic mirror and im finding it IMPOSSIBLE to get the points required for the unlocks, Some levels I am killing every single enemy and gettin warrior focus and not dying and I am well off the points required for unlocks???

This was a very hard part of the game - just keeping going at it remember to stick to the outside walls and out of the water when the lightning strikes!!

Good Luck, I swore a lot at this level

great game, finished it with all fruits and items a few weeks back, that boss is harder than the final boss but no way that difficult just takes a little while. Deep blue is great for spraying them damm pesky fire critters but as you say a pig to control underwater. Hope they make a 2nd one but Rare said that it depends on sales of this one. Infact the whole game is quite easy but a very enjoyable romp

I thought the final boss (the king of the trolls - cant remember his name now) was harder. Maybe because It took me ages to realise I had to take out my sister before he would die - doh!

The troll king was far to easy, I used 40 below and didnt even loose an ounce of energy while fighting him..

It took me a while to figure out how to do it aswell. Basically you have to kill all the enemies and get as many brutal, carnage and frenzies as possible.

If you have Chilla it's easier just get them, hit onto your back then throw 3 at a time so you'll get 3 carnages, 3 brutals and 2 frenzies.

Make sure you don't get it and especially make sure you don't get set on fire because you'll lose loads of multipliers.

At some point in the level there will be and area where trolls just keep on spawning then I found it easiest to use Pummel Weed and get into warrior focus and the more carnages multipliers you have the more death trolls spawn. Then just keep doing that till no more of the death trolls spawn when you go into warrior focus. Try not to get into warrior focus before here aswell.

Easy.

I think I might put this on the back burner for 5 or 6 days and then get stuck in with a vengeance adopting the new tactics, I think I might have charged in a little too vigourously and it seems as though the makers want a slower approach.
Either way I think they made a real mess up with this particular issue as it is not really in keeping with everything that has gone before. It is alsmost as though they want to protect this particular little nasty from harm and the control is rubbish, utterly rubbish.
I look forward to getting past this bit so that I can get back to normal control with no weirdness applied to a one off character.
Normally I think they are really good but this time they have totally got it wrong. Such a shame.

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to good games by Rare? The only other one I have is "grabbed by the ghoulies" for the Xbox which my daughter likes to play as it is definately aimed at the 3-6 year old market although the unspoken humour is definitely aimed at a more adult audience. It is strange how some things are aimed at one group but appeal to others.

This is the biggest part of theproblem though.
I can punt the bombs ok and get the guy into the water.
However I dive in as deep blue and the camera won't go under unless i thrust down and forward.
This leads to me having very little time left to fire at the orbs and driving into the blob loses me a lot of health.

THe camera is the problem here not getting him to take a bath and I can't seem to get the camera to go underwater and stay there unless deep blue is deep down :(

The other thing is "elixir of life" can these only be taken when found? I could probably use one of these and finish the blob off but how on earth do you take them ?
