Unless the intruder is coming at you with an Axe, slicing the guy in half with a Katana will land YOU in court, silly i know, but it is the way it is. And you don't need a real katana to do that, there are plenty of Live Katanas out there that doesn't cost 4/5 figures sums which will do the same thing.

Yeah thats true, but i wouldnt suggest paying that much for one if your only interest was home security :S.

It's pretty much pure steel, but it's the carbon and the folding which gives them the strengh and ability to hold an edge. (But more folds != greater strength / edge etc).

They also cover the edge of the blade in clay when they cool it. It makes the edge harder and the main backbone of the blade more flexible and less likely to break.

I dont quite understand what your saying there. Your saying im not worth knowing cos i appreciate quality? Well yeah i do, i dont like spending my money on poor quality goods, that applies to most things, computers/cars/clothes w/e.
