Keanu Reeves Says Matrix 4 and 5 are Coming

Flogging a dead horse.

The Wachowski Brothers were once hot property, but they've fallen out of fashion with a string of bad films... did anyone else see Ninja Assassin... SHOCKING!

It looks to me like they are trying to reignite the flame by bringing back the films that put them at the top. However, where can The Matrix really go now? It felt to me like it was tied up at the end of the trilogy.

Also you have the fact that by the end Neo has become like a God... Smith even more so. That kind of takes a lot away from it, as he can now do anything. If you compare it with the first film where he wasn't amazing, couldn't fly and was only seeing The Matrix for the first time, as were our eyes, it's quite different and lost that charm.

the 2 was ok, but the 3rd was a load of turd. It felt like Neo was weak sprout that couldn't hurt a fly.

Anyone play the path of Neo, why didnt they end the film like that? all the agent smiths build a big smith, then Neo smashes the **** out of it.

Its a hoax .... they are not making 4 & 5 at this present time ..... Keanu was not at some London film uni and his reps have confirmed that no such interview took place.

Oh Lord. I can only imagine the ridiculous plot they'll have to create to fit these two into the mess that is the Matrix story.

Gotta be a hoax, right?

That was my first thought, surely there's nowhere to go with it decently - not that I think that will stop them but it's got to be a major doubt for anyone thinking about watching it.

Incidentally, it's easy to forget that the second Matrix film actually got a better critical reception than the first...

The first one was released as a relative unknown though from what I recall and built up a head of steam based on word of mouth so it wouldn't be totally surprising that it was relatively un-reviewed. However that doesn't prevent me from thinking that whoever reviewed it well probably did so based on what they wanted it to be rather than what it was.

The Matrix is enjoyable, the subsequent ones less so but even then it was hardly a particularly novel concept in fiction, it was simply a hash of lots of existing stories and mythologies. I liked it but didn't think at the time or on reflection that it quite merits the adulation it received.

A film with a $63m budget from a huge studio, and had some hype around it (I remember seeing TV spots and TV previews on it) wasn't relatively unknown.

Also, I'm taking these ratings from Rotten Tomatoes where top critics have the second film rated higher than the first.

The third is the only film that I've left the cinema during as I was so bored. I've watched the rest since and it was the correct decision. As the series has got progressively worse as it's gone on I don't hold out much hope for new ones. As an aside the first one didn't bring anything new to cinema, though it was an entertaining story. All of the techniques had been used in Asian cinema beforehand.

matrix 4 it turns out that they are machines trapped in a world programmed by humans making them think they are humans who are then trapped in another system controlled by machines....... lol

and matrix 5 is they discover they are all the imagination of hollywood and itl be another one of those annoying film spilling over into real life films lol

The Matrix - Superb
Reloaded - Terrible
Revolutions - Never bothered to watch after the shambles that was part 2.

4+5 I don't hold out much hope for.

2 was so bad I almost walked out the cinema. I can't think of many films I was so underwhelmed by.
