Kendrick Lamar calls out white fan for rapping n-word onstage with him at concert

I'm on my phone, so CBA to edit the massive quote, but do we know KL sang the N word. I accept somehow it's accepted in the backing track, which i grant you is weird, but do we know KL sang the word and then wouldn't let others?

Wow quoting the satire site 'the urban dictionary' as your source..... Scrapping the barrel much?.... A site that contains a list of definitions for 'SJW' that has 'skeleton jazz wizard' as a more highly rated (proportionally) definition of 'SJW' then the one you cherry picked..... Let's look at the full, incoherent, rambling definition you picked in full....

Goal posts are being moved, you asked for a definition and it took me all of two mins to find you one.

So they guy who went on first decided to self censor and not sing along with certain words?

He followed the very simple rules, the girl didn't. (censor the N word)

I'm glad I don't care for this particular artist.

Who cares

Who pays to go and see a performer who seems to spend a big proportion of their time have fans up on stage singing their songs instead of singing them themselves....?

The people who paid to go see the performer including the woman in question.

And it still doesn't help with the key objection to this issue which is that the 'artist' is on stage singing ***** this and ***** that in front of a crowd including some people who can't sing along to all the words for 'reasons'.

The artist wasn't on stage singing N this or that. The background music may have had it in (although it's not very clear, might be a substitute word). Also that wasnt the issue, the issue was who ever came on stage as a guest singer was told to censor the word. Some people did like Rohan (who is not white), this girl made a mistake and was caught up in the moment and forgot to censor. She clearly knew she wasnt supposed to say it given she asked "did i say it" which is pretty self explanatory.

If your claim is that black people are 'reclaiming' the pejorative term *****.... Remind them, at least inthe UK how this should work.... The term 'Tory', as used to refer to members of the Conservative party, has its roots in a pejorative slur with the word derived from the Gaelic for outlaw ....

Good luck with that

You quoted a small section of a rambling incoherent 'definition' of the term from a satire site that allows user submitted entries. You scrapped the barrel so hard with that one you probably went straight through it. If you think that proved your 'point' then there's not really a lot I can add. I am hardly the only person in the thread that thinks your use of the term is incorrect.

A 'rule' that's both nonsensical and incoherent. It clearly wasn't the general usage of the word at the venue that was an issue because you can clearly hear the word being said (not by the woman) on the track towards the start of the 'chorus' before she repeats it in the next line..... its a stupid attempt to police language and set up a racial caste privilege system and its ongoing usage in this way (by blacks) continues to help keep them it the same stereotypical box that some people whine so much about them being placed in.

Listen from 17:00 on the word is there repeatedly in the chorus but for 'reasons' the girl has to remain silent whilst its shouted out for the crowd to here. I suggest you go see an audiologist if your hearing is that bad that your struggling to make out the word.

What sense does it make for the 'guest singer' to remain silent at a point in a song just so the word can be shouted out anyway by either a backing track or the artist?

I don't know why all these side topics keep being brought up. What's a SWJ, does the backing track say it, what is the point of not saying it. Surely we were just discussing if KL was being a **** and to me it's very clear he wasn't.

I think personally I will just leave it there and unsub to this thread. It has been interesting though :)

wonder why you don't have this dilemma in other genres - oh yea that's right, because this isn't a genre. It's just a bunch of plebs shouting racial slurs , mo money hoe this hoe, gold chains yo! masquerading as an art form. And that girl had it coming, she wants to partake in this trash, she deserves what she gets including the absurd double standard. Listen to some real music like dire straits without having to worry if you can use the same language as the author without incurring SJW wrath.

this is as pathetic as it could possibly be

It isn't a genre? Have you told that to the multi billion dollar industry surrounding it? I'm not a fan personally, but discounting it because you don't like it and then recommending Dire Straits is ridiculous tbh. I'm specifically ignoring this incident in this post for obvious reasons.

EDIT: Seeing YT video above, what a joke. Let the word die by not popularising it and using it in songs anymore, how does that sound?

This this 1000 times this. When i was young in the 80's there was a racist word for asians that was a first part of the word Pakistan. We don't hear it anymore because the word has died. But because Black people won't let the N word die we still hear it from racists etc

The word hasn't died  I still get called it multiple times a year.

Yes Dad.

There's plenty of decent rap/hip-hop throughout the last few decades that go beyond the superficial.

One example. Controversial for sure. (Swearies)

i'll be honest and say i never understood how "****" became an accepted insult, given it's just a shortened version of "Pakistani". it's like suddenly deciding "Brit" is an insult for British people etc

U wot m8

to be honest, if you are a fan of an artist work uses the N word and you sing to it as a white dude, i dont think thats a bad thing really, else rappers should not say it themselves in a song lol

One of the most hilariously clueless, cringeworthy and delusional posts I've ever seen on these forums. You could not be more of a stereotypical faux music expert if you tried. It's just absolutely perfect that you then followed it up by referencing an old rock band as 'real music', you've nailed every cliche in the book.

The best part is posting this in relation to a rapper who has won a Pulitzer Prize and is considered by many to be amongst the best lyricists in popular music.

My advice would be to pull your head out of your rectum and realise that what you hear on the radio or mainstream TV may not be entirely reflective of a genre as a whole.

Shall I just dismiss huge genres as varied as rock and electronic music because of Nickleback or The Chainsmokers ?
