Kerbal Space Program

well i got on Duna finally, and took some screenshots. I then opened up the editor to play with the colors a little and when i did auto correct in CS3 it made the photos coloured like some of the real Mars shots look, ie adjusted to what it would look like on earth. How weird!

just loaded KSP there, i cant see any fuel tanks? i have reinstalled, restored my pc back to before my last windows update.
I have tried installing to a different location but, still i cannot see any fuel tanks? just the rocket boosters, engines and all the other stuff.

just found this kerbal part collection page thing which is pretty good. doesn't have everything. but has the main ones.
Just downloaded loads of stuff. Really interested in the cargo bay mods. see if I can get anything working.

wahhhhhooooo finally made it to eve

good god its hard to get to, even that was more luck than judgment and 1.5 tanks with nuclear rocket to get an intercept, oh and about a dozen failed attempts.

The atmosphere is thick, going to take one crazy rescue rocket to lift of from eve.

Now my problem is getting back from Duna to kerbal. Same issues as before right angles set, but never getting intercept lol. Plenty of fuel left though.

Does that make me evil?

If I launch one way missions to Duna an Jool?
Heck even Mun an Minimus still get one way missions, in my space program.
But I usually dont strand them on there own, I typically set up small colonies, at a nice site, like Mun North Pole, or Minimus glacier's.

Still Duna is kicking my ***. But I dont you MecJeb.

Landing on dark side does make it so much harder, unless you have something like mech Jeb, which cangiveyou your true altitude.
Been trying all night to come up with a use for a refueling mod and docking mod.

I want to make a base ruffling, which stays on a planet, a little transfer vehicle to transfer the fuel and then a space craft which can dock with said fuel transfer vehicle.

But not much success so far, kerbal space centre is littered with refueling craft now.

The docking mod works great in space, but the magnetic pull isn't very strong on land, and so you have to get a vehicle lined up just right and so far none of the cart/rover parts of used so far are any good at that.

Spent about 3 hours on it grrrr. So close but so far. Lag and the way carts work, doesn't make it a very precise vehicle.

Night time landing on Mun/Minumus isn't that hard.
But I prefare avoiding them for obvious reasons, its dark.
The North an South poles are unavoidably dark, so learning to do night time landings is advisable, for missions to these regions.

Few Tips:
1. When meters from the ground, use your exhaust glow (Flames Radiated light) to judge the group height. Usually you can see exhaust glow from 5Meters from ground
2. Use the rock's that spawn, to judge terrain slope an elevation.
3. Land at night, beside another ship. Its PINK marker also works as an elevation marker.
3. Approach much slower that normal, an bring suitable fuel for extra long burn times.

But I am in no position to criticize, just slammed an experimental Mun/Minimus lander into the Mun at just over 100M/s. Sorry Kerbalnaught... :o

Cool. What happened ther Marc?
I dont know of any graphical glitch's, that should be causing that, or it just the F1 Key, the screenshot came out wrong?

Everything looks fine in that picture to me? If anything, the shadow positions need adjusted. I find they are slightly off angle.

I have also just planned a mission :) i made that spacecraft fly a low orbit, because their is no parachute. Its orbiting the mun at 4.5k. I am going to see, if i can use my kerbal to jump to it and grab on :)

It would seem my PC, never loaded the picture properly first time.
So I could see the stars, then some weird colours, an then pure black...
So I assummed thats what you were posting about, was some weird graphics glitch, when in fact my computer was been lazy an not loading the picture an rendering it properly... :o

Your lander looks good, it a little simple, how does it cope with other orbiting bodies? Sensitive to land on?

You have to be EXTREMELY careful when landing. I hate landing on struts, when you judge your landing wrong and end up landing on a slope, you end up rolling over more.
If you go in to hard, it will always break the engines. It wont blow up strangely, the fuel tanks just fall off.

How do you turn shadows on?
Isn't it a configure change in notepad?

No idea sorry :( i just extracted the game and played. I have only changed the resolution. Have you tried increasing the number of shadow cascades?

Have you seen what's been announced in 0.18

Docking with basic supply transfer
Flight planner with nodes
Big remodeling of kerbin and Moho.
New moon around Jool
A tiny asteroid in the gap between Duna and Jool
new parts including fairings

Finally will be able to build a space station and outposts, properly.

And also maybe be able to do a aircraft/space launch. If someone makes a mod to just fly the plane auto while you asscene the spaceship into orbit, before switching back. It certainly sounds like this should be doable for a mod.

The tiny Asteroid is apparently already "in game" just not documented. Very few people have seen it, and it doesn't show up on the map.

Its black with yellow bits on it or something.
