(seems only appropriate place to post)

Ok another thing I need to replace is my keyboard.

I'm currently using the Razer Lycosa and to put it simply, it's ****.

Constantly has issues with keys sticking then it randomly starts using the media buttons so unplugging and plugging it back in 2-3 times a day is just annoying.

So I need a keyboard to;
- Have backlight (pref blue)
- Silent typing
- Standard design (i.e. no 16 extra programmable keys)
- Preferably not Razer as it's evident they look great but are just ****
- Have media buttons
- Wired

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

How old is your Lycosa? If it's old then you should expect that to happen. I had a logitech keyboard that was old and switched A for D randomly which was iratating. But I didn't go slating Logitech for "look great but are just ****" Also http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-005-CM is meant to be quite good but is soon to be released with cherry reds instead of blacks but I can't remember when. (Or if Im right)

The lycosa was purchased about november

Apparently thousands have the same issue so :p

Mechanical is typically louder keyboards aren't they? I need a relatively silent one as I'll be typing up to 5-6AM.

Cherry Blacks are meant to be quite silent. Thousands of people have problems with lots of products but slating them for one product isn't how you should go about it is all :P

True, but just annoying as hell :p

any other suggestions as i forgot to mention but need wrist wrest (preferably like the lycosa and attached to it, instead of for example my previous saitek which wasn't)

Thanks again :P

Tbh scotteh, if you test your lycossa, it will perform exactly the same as the logitech wyrd linked. My dad has one downstairs and I can press any 5 keys at the same time and they all register properly.

I would get the logitech If the price was lower, for what you pay for its a VERY expensive keyboard.

Meh. I used one for about 3 years and only really encountered that issue when I attempted moving from spawn whilst still buying equipment on CS:S. A very minor annoyance in the scheme of things.

Tbh the logitech he linked performs the same as your lycossa.

Put your left on QWER and your right hand on UIOP(to test normal typing)

Press all 8 down at the same time, you will experience the "lock up" that people are talking about, it will only register 2 presses at the max and sometimes non at all.
My dad has the logitech keyboard downstairs wyrd linked, doing the same action and it registers 6 buttons every time.

For gaming QWER and ASDF, as your fingers are around that area, the Logitech still picks up 6 everytime and the razer will pick up 4-6.

So it performs better overall actually ;p

But the price is WAY to expensive for what you get.

Yeah I'm aware of the lock up with the keys :P

I liked my old Saitek as I'd be able to press 4 at the same time but now it's down to 3 on the lycosa, you could also have 2 keys constantly pressed (i.e. if I pressed qw at the same time on the saitek it would produce qwqwqwqwqwqwqwqwqwqwqw etc, where as now it just does qwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, not really anything wrong with it just preferred the way saitek done it)

But know most won't do the same as the saitek and afaik most keyboards will lock on over 4 (or at least not register the 4) buttons.

So mechanical keyboards register over 3 keys pressed at once?
