Keysonic Wireless Keyboard/Touchpad questions for HTPC

a decent keybaord is worth the money. i know people have different priorities but come on, i can not pretend £60 is a good price for a remote with a colour screen lol. id sooner spend the same or more on a decent bluetooth keyboard that actually works and feels better than a keysonic.

My Keysonic is Bluetooth

Its also fine in quality and feel.

In fact I quite like it.

Changed my mind

Range is fine

But when I reboot its flakey and I have had to remove and add the keyboard remotely from my laptop in order for it to be seen again.

Its going back.

CBA with it.

It maybe my dongles fault dunno.

Shame as it works fine when linked.

Logitech I guess.

sorry to 'bump' this but I am thinking of slowly building a HTPC as I have now experienced XBMC and love it. So getting my media sorted for that.

Easyrider (or others) what keyboard and version did you go for in the end. I dont know much about Bluetooth but I already have a PS3 and the official BT remote for it. Not that I really use it. would the BT version of this keyboard interfere with the PS3 or not.

Just interested in what people are using.
I too have the Harmony one, programmed for everything AV wise in my lounge including operating the Laptop via IR receiver for using XBMC.

Thank you.

(look at me, i used the 'search' function) :)

If you just need a wireless keyboard (you've got a decent remote) then look at the logitech K340. It's great. I've got a logitech mouse too, which I rarely use, same as the keyboard really, but they both use the same reveiver.

I have a 540RF, it works great. It's the 2nd I've had one, as the 1st was faulty, but got a replacement pretty sharpish. Don't have any connection issues, and I haven't had to reset the dongle. That was the problem with the 1st one, it wouldn't go half hour without having to reset it. I have the dongle at the rear of the HTPC, so I'm chuffed the signal is good. My last one, which was a Trust, was just plain ****. Supposedly 8m range, but struggled at 2m, with line of sight. As has been said, mouse buttons are plasticky, but the build quality is fine for the money. Then again, my Cherry keyboard cost less, and is solid, but then it has no track pad. :p
