you see this is why americans are stupid, i assumed he was passing out chicken to become more socially accepted. To make himself and the people around feel more comfortable. =/ "bringing the crowd under control" says it all really, americans are control freaks !

If anything the people moaning are the ones making the fried chicken/black association. It's an Aussie guy (who happens to be white, like a good portion of Aussies are) sharing his 'delicious' fast food with some West Indians (guess what colour most of them are...) to promote a product which is widely eaten by all creeds and colours around most of the world. Non event imo.

It's true, I lived in Seven Sisters for 3 years where there are loads of black people, and there are 13 fried chicken shops on the high street, a dozen places to get your do did and every shop sold watermelons.

funny advert, it's not racist tho just because it's got a white guy and black guys and chickens in it  it's very easy to say it is racist if that's how you want it to be. ppl just see racist at the drop of a hat, cant even have banter any more unless it's someone from your own freekin family lol.

I don't see it as being a negative stereotype, more a "funny" stereotype. Same with the watermelon thing. It's funny because it's so ridiculous. :p

It seems offended by proxy isn't just a British thing then.

Can you imagine if Rising Damp was back on TV or Til Death to us Part ?

Imagine A&E being swamped by proxy grippers.

Some people just need to stop looking for **** to throw at the political fan.

Not intentionally racist perhaps, but really, they should have used some braincells and realised that a single white man silencing a rowdy mob of black being by giving them fried chicken, then citing 'too easy', is probably going to offend.

I find it a little funny. Black people, and in truth, most people in general, like fried chicken. Nothing wrong with it, it tastes good.

It's not an offensive stereotype and is actually quite true so I don't see why people can get upset by it.

I could understand it if the black people asked for some chicken and the Aussie said "sorry, it's white meat".:D

So the guy finds himself in the opposing teams supporters crowd in the middle of a match and says "find yourself in a tricky situation", then hands out KFC to alleviate the awkwardness ??

This is racist ??

Some ppl need to get a thicker skin and also bear in mind that Aussie humour is sometimes so far past the knuckle, there aint one left.... And I like that :D

Also... If anyone cared to look, it appears KFC is one of the sponsors of cricket both in the West Indies and in Australia so why wouldnt they use these two sides in there ads ??

True, especially in today's culture!

The Windies usually fry chicken at the cricket grounds anyway, so no need for KFC. :D

Black people love fried chicken and watermelon as much as the average Brit loves beer and curry.

So what?

"Oh no, you can't possibly insinuate that generally people like something!" Why not? It's a generalisation. I'd say it's more racist that he's not having a good time in the first place!
