I'm not trying to sound mean or anything, its just frustrating to myself and others when advise is asked for and then totally ignored.

I have taken on the advise of changing gfx and cooler. So i would not say it is totally ignored. Why have I taken on this advise because at least the gfx is better (according to shown tests).

The fact of the matter is that I am very happy to take on advice but only when it is good one. Thanks

Haha I nearly spat my cornflakes at the cat when I read that bit :p

me 2.

Anyway pgi care to explain how

Gigabyte Z68X-UD3P Intel Z68 is better than p8z68 v? I think p8z68 v is way better than what you recommend. And as I have previously mentioned I am only considering Nvidia cards.

The good news folks is that I have quired a new component. d14 cooler.

Lastly I do appreciate everyones impute especially if its a good one. So go ahead and let me know if you come up with something better than what I have already to get from reminding list to get.

Thanks

IF you go for the UD3, it only has two PCIe x16 (x8/x8 in SLI) slots. Most sound cards use either PCI (not quite as long as PCIe x16, two of these on the bottom of the UD3) OR PCIEx1 slots (smallest slot, 3 of, two above first x16 one below). I can't say I've seen many sound cards use an X16 slot.

Either way you should be able to fit a sound card in there with no hassle, if its PCI then take the bottom PCI slot, if its X1 pick one of the top slots.

What sound card do you have?

I was thinking of getting this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-002-AS&tool=3

and linking it with 2x480's... at same time. Is that possible using above ud3 board?

That is possible, its PCIEX1, either of the two slots above the first x16 lane will suffice.

As you have budget constraints why not look at the Xonar DG? Will fit nicely in one of those bottom PCI lanes on the UD3, costs half as much and offers pretty much the same as the DX.

*Note if you do choose the P8Z68 and DO go SLI the only option you will have open is the DX, with two GPU's in all PCI lanes are blocked, leaving only a single X1, the UD3 doesn't have this problem*

Thanks for that PGI your suggestions are very welcome. BTW do you know if Z68X-UD3P-B3 supports ivy bridge 22nm cpus? ta

It should do, checking bios updates on GB's site should confirm it. Afaik all P67 and Z68 boards will or have received updates for the 22nm CPU's. So it does leave a future upgrade path. Also don't get the impression IB CPU's are going to blow away SB, as it won't be the case, if anything the 2500K will be cheaper in a few weeks.

PGI thanks to your input I am almost certain to now get GA-Z68X-UD3R-B3. It looks good.

£1100 and you get that? Possibly the worst way to spend £1100 on a new system. You could get so much more for your money.

Well Straz if you like to recommend a component that is better please go right ahead. But please bear in mind that I have already acquired 3 peaces.

1. haf x case
2. 750hx pus
3. d14 cooler

But please also be clear why you think your possible recommended components are better that what I have already chosen.

At last, its only taken 3 and a half pages of bargaining! :p

So you about settled on spec now then? are you going for the 448core or the 480? A pair of 480's would make your setup slightly more 'kick ass' ;)

Will go for 448 core as I am striving to make my build also environmentally friendly as much as possible. 2xNVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448-Core GPU will be a kick ass enough to take on any game on the market now and for next few years at decent resolutions.

I am so good.

I am struggling to work out what constitutes "Eco" for this build!

Are you talking about manufacturers ethical responsibilitys, Embodied energy (Cradle to Grave, Cradle to Cradle etc), Energy use and so on.

Or just whatever rubbish they happen to have on there website which contains to work "sustainable".

Both ways sounds good. What you think? Choosing Kingston memory is quite green (see their site for further inf on this matter) . Not many people can figure that such as I have. I know I am so good.
