Kid bypassing Laptop Windows Password

Are there not security questions you can answer if you forget your password? Open the laptop, and type his password incorrect a few times, see what happens. You'll probably find there's 'backup/security questions' which he could be using.

Check in the machines logs... Thats kinda what they are there for!

ID 4724 - Password reset attempt by admin and event ID 4723 is a password change attempt by a user.

Filter your event logs with those ID's and you might find your answer. More to the point take it all away... You cant be being played by a child...

I'm obviously not explaining this simply enough. I changed ALL the passwords.

So how does he log into his account (or any account) if he doesn't have the password. (for any of the accounts on the machine)
Ahh.

He has this then.

What does it matter how they are doing it? They will keep doing it.

This - Op needs to show kid that they are the kid, follow the rules or face the consequences. :D - Its how it was when I was a little one... Trust me, I followed the rules - Probably because back then it was different, kids these days have zero respect.

Exactly. Kid resets passwords and takes laptop away "again" from his Dad.

It's only an IT issue if you've got a laptop to have an issue with. You've not because your kid has taken your laptop away from you.

How old is he?

Not following this are you. I don't use the laptop. Its "his "laptop". Though obviously its my infrastructure to manage and police.

In the old days you take their food away, and let them starve. But eventually you'd have to feed them, and the circle would continue.

I'm only here for the IT side. I have a T-Shirt for every simplistic parenting trope that will be trotted out. No offense.
