Kill coil?

if I have de-ionised water more specifically, halfords battery top-up water, will I need a kill coil in my loop?

It's wise to use a silver kill coil, stops any nasties from growing in your loop. Simply pop it in your res

It's highly recommend since they stop things from growing inside your loop.

Just get one, really is the simplist way to ensure you don't get any algae in your loop. For £4 thats quite reassuring and much simpler than having to clean a load of algae gunk out of your blocks, rads, fittings, hose....

I have one in my loop. As mentioned its only a few quid so you might as well if it keeps it fairly clean and crap free

I would go for the killcoil - only £4. Wouldn't use PT Nuke nowadays, heard it causes tubing to fog up (Tygon is one) and EK doesn't like it as well. (please correct me on this)

Certainly seems to be fine, but for the most trouble free experience, it's always bog standard distilled/deionised + kill coil.

It's the best pc dye you can get but doesn't protect your water from growth so still need a kill coil.

PT Nuke doesn't necessarily cause tubing to cloud. I had clouding issues with Masterklear and Tygon tubing long before I'd ever used PT nuke. I'm not saying I know what causes it but I'd rule out PT personally.

Put it in the res. It will fit through the fill port quite easily.

was trying to find kill coil when I was building my loop but every where it was sold out, so had to resort to PT Nuke, it has been about 6 months now with out any kind of clogging or build-up.

Hey mate, I've also got Mayhem dye and a kill coil.

I would definately not put it in the res, big chance of it getting in the pump...

It fits perfectly in 1/2" tubing, and I think the 1 smaller size. So anywhere in the tubing is fine.
