Since my rabbit got killed by this fox, the fox keeps visiting the garden, infact it's not a rare thing if we go out in the garden at night it'll be there, my dad caught it in the next door neighbours garden who leaves food out for the cats.

Is it legal to kill a fox? Or if we contacted the RSPCA could they do something to get rid of this fox? My mum sometimes goes roaming the garden with a big knife but it's more than likely it'll be her that gets injured when the fox goes for her.

Thanks
Will.

I just think its abit cruel killing it, I know it ate my rabbit and took it's body away but it has no idea what it's doing does it.

We lost a rabbit some years ago to a fox. Was our fault for not bringing it in soon enough [pain in the arse chasing a rabbit around the garden waving a rake! :p].

It was sad, but we don't want to kill the fox for doing what foxes do. Next time, don't keep a rabbit, or take better safeguards. We are on our second rabbit since the first was killed and he runs around the garden all day still.

Even if you manage to kill it, there is little to stop another from moving in on its territory.

From what you have said the food for the cats your neighbours leave out is probably the reason it still comes round even though the rabbit is gone.

the advantages of living in the countryside.

If i saw a fox in our garden, I would shoot it. Definitely. Unfortunately it isnt as easy for someone in a city/town :(

Just noticed you are in York as well...

where in York?
