........Tripwire is now 50 employees strong. Killing Floor 2 is coming to Steam Early Access for Windows and Valve's SteamOS. When? Not as soon as I may want, Gibson says, but sooner than I may expect. After watching them play KF2, I know they got at least the first half of that statement right.

KF2 will support Steam Workshop for mods. Tripwire will release a mod SDK. "That's one of the things we're very adamant about," Gibson says. "We like to prod DICE and EA on this one occasionally. They've essentially come out and said that games have progressed to the point [that they] don't believe the community can make content for [their] games. I say that's total BS. People are smart. That's selling them short. They will figure out their tools. If we can do it, smart kids out there are going to figure it out too."

I've created a custom server. You still get XP rewards and perk progression. Search for:

Early access sucks. Rather wait for the complete version than get bored of an unfinished, buggy game.

+1

After DayZ I never bought an EA access game. Tripwire have the funds to give us a traditionally developed game with pre-alpha, alpha, beta, RC releases if they really want the community to test the game. I just don't have the patience for EA games and the way some devs exploit it's intention.

I am looking forward to KF2, but I'd rather sink my teeth into GTA5 whilst the EA bugs and continued development is ironed out.

Games can be purchased cheap even after EA has ended anyway, unless they sucker people into it with exclusive EA items.

- Getting 60FPS, VSYNC disabled so I guess the game is capped.
- There is no SLI profile and I get lots of stutter
- Maxed on Ultra VRAM usage is around 1400MB 1080p
- No 21:9 native support
- No MSAA options only FXAA in the aliasing options

edit - read my updated posts

Re: SLI

- Open up NV control panel
- Program Settings tab; Add Killing Floor 2
- Under Specify prgram settings select: Power management mode: Prefer MAX Performance; SLI Rendering mode: Force alternate frame rendering 2.
- Vertical Sync: ON.
-Then hit APPLY and play the game.

Re: 60hz issue, Vsync and flickering:

The game's Vsync (ON or OFF) doesn't work for me. I have a 120hz monitor so I enabled the variable frame rate option in game (again there should be a slider for this, but I guess that's what you can expect from an EA game).

I used vsync adaptive or on from within the nvidia control panel and the flickering disappeared.

Anyone else don't like the double tap W to sprint?

Disable smoothing:

If this is true im out! Need MSAA 4-8x and 120fps. Such a shame this better be fixed soon they rendered guns at over 200fps and expect people to still be on 60hz?

Read my updated posts. Whilst there is no MSAA and only FXAA the game is not capped to 60FPS, you need to check the variable rate option in the menu.

Also anyone getting awful lag and sync issues in multiplayer? It's unplayable for me. :(

Could you confirm 120hz online then with no tearing? I just spent a bit of time googling and previously KF1 was config.ini editing for refresh=value and still capped to 90fps online. Offline was uncapped. You sort of confused me i take it ingame vsync+varable framerate will not let you vsync and get 120.00 frames?

Yes I get 120hz online. As for tearing there is none that I can see, but the flickering is annoying me atm, which apparently is a PhysX and Variable Frame Rate issue.

You confused me..

Why would you see tearing do you use vsync and get 120fps? Then you mention flickering you have me confused if you are using no frame limits and just playing or if you have a proper setup of application controlled vsync and ingame vsync on with 120fps.

I never mentioned I got tearing once in any of my posts.

I have specifically mentioned flickering which probably is a PhysX or another kind of bug as mentioned in the article I linked to. I can't get to the bottom of it. :(

It's very straight forward.

Right now there's 4 perks, each perk generally uses a single type of weapon, so Commando is assault rifles, Support is shotguns, Medics are the medi weapons and berserker are melee weapons, you can use other weapons on other perks, but a commando will have bonus damage etc while using an assault rifle. They also have other benefits, like support can distribute ammo and medic can heal.

There's a certain number of rounds depending on what the server is set up as, 7 rounds is normal, after each round the trader appears, which you can find from the compass at the top of the screen as the wave is occuring, or the arrows which float around your screen after the wave has finished, at the trader you can refill your ammo, buy weapons and buy body armour. You can also pick up weapons around the map to sell them to the trader for extra dosh. With weapons there's a weight limit, so you can only carry a certain amount, so you have to have enough money and weight capacity to get them.

After the last wave there's a boss which you have to kill, so make sure you stock up fully after the final wave has been.

Yes there is.

Thanks, what do those blue and red bars above players indicate? Is there a way to know who is carrying what perk, as it seems pointless me running to a medic who can heal himself.

Edit - Sweet. Didn't know we can set up our own dedicated servers this easily

this may sound silly but how to do you change class?

I am on commando which was the one selected once the game was installed but for the life of me I cannot find the option to change it lol.

It's the Perks option on the main menu or you can change perks (which is essentially your classes) from the trading station.

Calling it perks is confusing to say the very least. :D
I can't wait until more are added, we definitely need a sniper added to the mix.

What's the best way to kill that final wave boss, I keep failing and that's playing on n00b normal level also. :o

Learning or at least discovering new things as I play.

Middle mouse button with the upgraded medic weapons fires healing darts and gives 4xp iirc. Kind of tough when players are moving around but great if someone gets captured by boss monster.

Middle mouse button whilst holding welder unseals welded doors.

The perk bonuses increases as you rank up.
