It's quite sad how excited i am about this considering it's just a demo...

I guess i just like the fact that a potentially over-hyped game is getting a demo before release as opposed to the utmost secrecy until release day that many big titles seem to be doing these days. At least this way i'll know if it 'feels' good before i invest. That Gamespot video where they complained of unresponsive controls had me worried.

They're just nit picking. It just means you won't be able to swing around 200mph like in other fps games. There is weight to you and your weapon. Although, you can sprint for as long as you want without getting tired. :D

Just pre-warning you guys that a few people have critiqued the controls quite a bit, also apparently there is very little or no aim assist according to many people, I'm not trying to put the game down, I just don't want people going into this thinking that it's going to be gods gift to gaming, there will no doubt be a few niggles, if you go into this too hyped up then chances are it won't live up to your expectations.

Anyway that aside I can't wait until the demo lands.

Damn you Robert. I saw this thread and jumped straight on the psn in the hope it was on there early. You crushed my spirit :(.

Can't what? See? Whinge more? eat? :p

During my extensive time with the beta, I had no problems at all with the controls. The pace of the game is very different to the majority of FPSs, so it is fair to say that things do feel a little slower, but certainly not to the game's detriment.

It's more of a feature than a fault IMO

Jeff over at giantbomb has made it clear that aiming in killzone 2 is too easy. He was able to get headshots using the standard assault rifle from half across the map. If you listen to the latest bombcast, he goes over all of this. So far giantbomb are realling digging this game.

Also, Jeff made an excellent point about how the AI gets into cover. Listen to the bombcast.

By the time I get home the PSN will be heaving under the strain, tbh I don't expect to be playing it today.
Would love to be proved wrong though!

:(

I'll be stuck at work for another 2 and a half hours after this has been released and then the drive home - wont be till gone 6 before I can even think about downloading it

Can't wait for this, is it conformed for 3pm or 3pm onwards?

The idea of no aim assist really appeals to me, far too many console FPS' have OTT aim assistance which takes a lot of the reward for a great shot away imo.

Hopefully I'll be able to get in before the servers grind to a halt.

I haven't been listening to any podcasts of late becuase I don't want accidentally listen to any spoilers, just seems strange quite a few people have commented on the controls being a little awkward, have a read of this,

This guy is usually quite a trusted reviewer, I'm not saying he's right, just a little interesting that there does seem to be quite a few mixed opinions in regards to the control scheme.

Anyway, we'll know soon enough.

Dude, I know you maybe only joking but I would just like to clarify that this is one of my most anticipated games of the year, I'm a PS3 fan through and through, I'm not trying to put the game down, or 'whinge' about it, I'm just saying that there have been enough people that have had issues with the controls to be possibly a little bit concerned that's all, apparently some people love them and for others they don't seem to meld so well.

^^ good read.

I really don't see a problem with the controls when watching videos. All I really noticed was its alittle slower than other fps games, which IMO can be a good thing. If they can make it feel like their is real weight to your movement, then that should be awesome. Other games feel like you're floating.

u sure this is 3pm UK time???

Thats the time we have been given for the demo.

I'd surprised if it hits @ 3pm, I'm sure the last two have been closer to 5/6pm, I could be wrong though.

Yeah I understand what you mean about the weight, if that's the issue people are having then I'm not really concerned becuase I'd prefer to have more weight in the game tbh, also did you know that apparently even the wind affects you in the game, is supposed to have it's own physics, that's crazy if true.

Like in aiming? throwing grenades? I could see that being kinda cool or really annoying. I guess thats why there is so much dirt in the air, to show which way the wind is blowing? Could be interesting.
