Killzone 3(maybe official thread?)

Is it me or is the R3 melee just totally <censored> on this game? Sometimes you can leap several feet and perform a brutal melee, other times you can (and have to) hammer R3 just to get a slap on the back. I wish you could remap R3 to another button as pressing down on a joystick in the heat of action is just <censored>.

I haven't seen that once it's actually one of the things I heavily praise in this game, you do really need to be right on top of somebody to melee them never had any issues with it at all.

Me neither, I find the melee excellent and there's no better feeling than jabbing a knife into someone's eyeball :D

Dude, anything I write in this thread is not meant to be taken seriously. ;) I just love to vent when things don't quite go my way. I'll be all right again in five minutes.

Just played a hilarious game on the turbine level. The other team had all three of the tactical spawns and we still beat them. I was running around as an infiltrator just clonking people at random. Reminds me of the CoD witch.

You bought another copy? ;):p

No, still on the second one. :p

I'm waiting to see if Homefront is any good (on rental) before I trade KZ3 in for it or Crysis 2. Maybe neither of them will be better and I'll keep at KZ3 until September when Battlefield 3 comes out.

KZ3 makes me schizophrenic. Some hours I love it, some hours I hate it. :D

TBH thats a mark of a good game then even when you hate it youll play it ;)

After your comments on Homefront I had a look and I cant understand why anyone is interested in it unless your a Redneck American, its as generic as it comes - when games need gimmicks, you know the underlying mechanics are ****. I dont need to say anything about Crysis 2 - Im sure Cryteks ability to make a good idea dull will serve them well...

lmao, how the hell did you's manage to win with no tactical spawn areas at all? That's quality, I don't think I've ever seen that yet. The first thing I think about doing (especially on Turbine) if the other team has no tsas is spawn trapping and you can get spawn trapped really easily on that map.

I think half the enemy team were just sniping from the upper levels and not bothering with the destroy, speaker or capture and hold tasks. The other half were just continually fighting from the spawn where the EMP button is. I think we won 4-3. They won 1 assassination, 1 body count and 1 search destroy thing. The latter was hilarious - we were just like a stream of ants running across the map from our base, one at a time getting picked off quite easily. But I simply could not be arsed to play tactician as I was having lots of fun doing my brutal melees. :D

Turbines a good map but damn those spawns are so easily camped, though I guess the addition of jetpacks would make it easy on most maps. I do think some of the tach spawn places are way too game changing on some maps once controlled...

Its a good map to get a lot of engineer points though ;)

Me and a few mates played a team like that on corinth highway, I counted 7 snipers on the opposing team. They all had nice pretty kd ratios at the end of the game and ours were a bit crap, only problem was they didn't win a single round lol.

Yeah I don't know why you get awarded a 1.25x bonus when you lose. It should be 1x for losing, 1.25x for draw and 1.5x for win. Saying that, I musn't grumble. It's taking an absolute age to level up now.

There's this Japanese guy 'wildside166' who's quite incredible. He was just running round slaughtering everything in his path. 11000+ points, 70+ kills in the two warzone matches I played with him. My team were clueless. :D No tacticians, no engineers and no medics.

I have had a lot of games (warzone) when the opposition is full of snipers/infiltrators makes me lol usually end up winning 5-1

That seems to be the norm now if you play with randoms. You generally end up in a game where everybody is using marksmen or infiltrators:mad:

Tell me about it. It makes me feel sick to the stomach.

EDIT: Oh yes, I forgot to mention! My second copy is now gone. If I ever see the game again, I'm likely to throw a brass ornament through the TV. *crosses fingers that Homefront MP will not be as frustrating*

LOL - know how you feel. Guerilla need to incentivize doing the tasks rather than just kills as the bonus difference between losing and winning means so little. Its the main reason why games are full of marksman and inflitrators and why at the end of Warzone rounds the points are so level...

If I had my way Id penalise anyone that doesnt make an attempt to do the tasks by reducing the bonus to less than 1 :p

Cant wait for some larger maps that give some more chance to develop tactics. Its why Coriath Highway is still one of my favs...

I've been playing medic - now full level (bar the secondary weapons) and this does seem to be what I'm experiencing.

I wish people would check to see who's playing what class!

It's utterly frustrating running to revive someone only for them to hit respawn at the last second :p

Out of curiosity (and I've not spotted this yet) is there actually a display anywhere on the score board/anywhere else that shows who's playing what class?

I was about to ask you the same question, because Im pretty sure its not shown anywhere - as I said a few pages back, with a broken medic, people learn not to use them or wait and even though its now fixed, that mentality has already been formed so you are unlikely to see it improve when playing with randoms (even with a good squad youll find the same happening - cos honestly I rarely wait myself unless I hear someone telling me they are coming, I used to wait when the beta came out cos I was a medic assuming it was the done thing myself).

Its one of the truths of class based FPSs if you dont get the balance right on support classes and make them so obviously useful then people learn to ignore them...

Ive like the setting of this game, the weapons and classes are quite balanced, but Guerilla in my eyes need to fix the win vs lose bonus (or penalise non-team players) to improve games (Operations is fine but Warzone could be a complete level of complexity better if we found more organised enemies) and never should have left Medic as it was for release. The guys that played the beta with me know how much I moaned how poor it was, it wasnt like it wasnt completely obvious...
