Kinect vs Move

Sony have actually products & games ready now and they work well, Microsoft have an idea and a ridiculous price point and even the demo's they have shown off don't work or are fake.

I'm only interested in motion control for the likes of PGA Tour. Although, Sorcery looked alright.

I agree that Kinect is severely limited by it's lack of buttons.

isnt move more exspensive for two people?

$49.99 per main control
$29.99 per secondary

so thats $160 for two people if you dont require two of the mains per person for some games you possably do. and dosnt include the camera

kinects costing $149 apparently.

Move actually seems to work well with non-casual games.

I was quite impressed by Sorcery and it's use of hand gestures to control the character, much more than whats been seen on the Wii imo.

Move has the physical feedback thats desperately needed by Kinect, which i feel may prove pretty poor for games that need some sort of feedback.

I can see move being awkward to play for shooters like time crisis though lol. I can't imagine myself holding the two controls to imitate a rifle, looks awkward.

Then again i was also impressed with Kinect with the Child of Eden demo.

They both have their pros and cons but i can see move being a better success for the usual genres. I can see Kinect selling by the bucket load to the casual market, especially families with lots of young kids.

How many people does Kinect support? Move supports at least 4. Can't see Kinect picking that much up.

It's $99 for the main controller, secondary, camera and a game which is good value. Considering DJ Hero was roughly £80 at launch, I'd say this is well priced.

Just under £70 then, thats not bad for all the hardware. I would have liked it to be a bit less pricey though. Although i imagine you can pick up the camera cheaply separately.

dont really no how many kinect supports

two full body definatly

in the first video they showed last year at e3 it made out it could do four people using it to detect there hands to make a buzzer for a quiz game but never seen anything since with 4 people

it dosnt look like the second "optional" control is included in the $99 bundle with the game and camara

The 'optional' controller can be replaced by a normal Sixaxis/DS3.

Sony and MS showed this new moition in good games, TW golf/Forza which ***** on the chips of what Nintendo can offer but to me its nothing more than "hey look how much Nintendo are making from the WII and its OMG controller"

Its not adding anything to power of the 360 or PS3 just taking old games and making them into hysteria like

Sony and MS know they have a lot of money to be made from this type of controller! Considering they have 99% of the hardware in millions of homes.

The only game that impressed me was the rollercoaster on the Kinnect and tiger woods on the PS3.

Personally it's Move for me, also hopefully Sony will be smart enough to realise they need to bring out things like gun attachments with force feedback.

Have to say Kinect looks like a stunning piece of technology, just not what I'm interested it as far as gaming is concerned.

Kinect will end up just like the EyeToy which is a 7 year old piece of technology that nobody cares about. Move is just PS3 games being able to be controlled by waggling a stick, to be honest, I'd rather have none of them. I'm very sure that Kinect will be a money pit for Microsoft who are clearly trying to get in on some of that family oriented gaming that Nintendo have monopolized, nothing wrong with that of course, as Sony are doing it too.

I just see housewives sticking to their Wii's and the 360 crowd sticking to Gears, Halo, Mass Effect etc, I don't really see who is going to *really* use either Move or Kinect for any length of time. As soon as the novelty has rubbed off everyone will go back to using the convenient and practical method of controlling the games with a control pad. Also, both of these systems are going to be quite pricey for what is essentially a pair of gimmicks hoping to take a slice of the Nintendo pie.
